Paul Ryan's Corrupt Oil Deal [VANITY]
12/272015 | me

Posted on 12/27/2015 8:05:14 PM PST by peyton randolph

Paul Ryan brags about the appropriations bill being a big win because of the lifting of the crude oil export ban.

But the win is for Paul Ryan's family. This is corruption. Ryan sold us out to line his own pockets.

And it isn't the first time. See Ryan's Shrewd Budget Payday.

In short, Ryan's wife and in-laws have made millions with Oklahoma oil and gas leases. This lifting of the crude export ban is a financial windfall for this family.

Wow, using the government to line one’s own pockets. Unheard of!

What is unheard of is the sole major “accomplishment” of an appropriations bill being the lining of the Speaker’s pockets. Usually they’re not that brazen about selling us down the river for a dishonest buck.

That Ryan has the chutzpah to brag about it as an accomplishment speaks volumes about the utter contempt he holds for the American people. Put us trillions in debt, and give the Democrats everything they want, in exchange for millions in personal gain.

They used to tar and feather for less.

It should be noted that one of the articles is dated 06-17-11.

Seems Ryan is just as sleazy as any of them. I have absolutely no use for him. I dislike him more than I did Boehner.

He was the weak link on the ticket with Romney. Even crazy Joe Biden made him look like an incompetent fool.

Whoa, slow down cowboy.

That most everyone on Free Republic thinks that Ryan is not the conservative leader we want, we can agree on.

To claim that the oil export ban was lifted solely to line his family businesses is way out of bounds. The oil export ban should have been lifted long ago for reasons unrelated to any politicians finances.

I think that every politician in America owns energy stocks, so no matter how they vote on this it affects them personally. You might as well claimed that the export ban was lifted to benefit ValJay or sHrillary.

So Ryan boasted that he made money on his businesses? Great, then he can pay more taxes on his income.

I would be more concerned about politicians that can't run a business without any government money. Oops, that's still most of them.

I dug a little on Ryan when he ran with Romney. I was curious about how you amass such wealth at such a young age from a rental duplex and other “shrewd” investments. You don’t have to look too far. The link is with his buddy Dan Boren, Congressman Oklahoma and his wife a relation of Boren. His wife’s father and mother are lawyers in Madill, Oklahoma. His FIL runs two little companies that have apparently been in the oil and gas lease brokering business... nothing wrong with that. It is just that they don’t file much in the way of public information about their little companies. I think one is the Red River Land and Timber company or something like that. The other says they “mine” sand and gravel but I can’t find any location for a business they advertise to sell sand and gravel.

Let’s be clear.

As Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Ryan co-authored this albatross working with a handful of cronies.

As Speaker he ensured its passage using procedural mechanisms that afforded no one time to read the entire bill.

The bill gives Obama everything he wants on Obamacare, funding of Planned Parenthood, illegal immigration, etc.

The sole benefit touted by Ryan from the bill that he claims makes it worthwhile is a provision from which he and his family financially profit.

Whether or not lifting the ban is a good idea is irrelevant to the sheer corruption and malfeasance involved here.

Ryan gave away the store in exchange for person profit.

So that was the payoff for passing the bill...I knew if we waited long enough, the ‘money’ would ‘follow’ and it just did....

More info here.

The family's oil and gas fortune started with Ryan's wife's grandfather, Reuel W. Little.

The globalist billionaire donors wanted the oil export banned lifted so they could sell oil for a higher price overseas. American tax payer screwed again. This time a double wammy, higher energy prices here and deeper in debt too. But the important thing is the GOPe took care of its’ billionaire donors.

Despised Ryan BEFORE this article but Double despise him now. He now stands to be the Poster Boy for what’s wrong with the two party system. Basically, this demonstrates beyond a shadow of a doubt that the bastards in both parties go up there to get rich.

Furthermore, as I recall, about 200 Republican House Members voted for Ryan. I’m sure each one of them has multiple “deals” on the stove with their constituents as well and are going along not to get along but to not make any noise until their bribe comes through.

Somehow this umbilical cord between legislators and bribes from their constituents has to be broken. And, it’s a laugher that Congress will ever cut the cord!

I have absolutely no use for Paul Ryan Rino. However, you are very correct, the lifiting of the ban on the export of oil is good for oil companies, and good for the taxpayer. It is a win win. They make a profit, more taxes are paid, the owners of the lease make money and we have more jobs.

The drop in oil prices has hurt the Fracking industry badly but the Saudis have overplayed their hand. We know where the oil is, we will go and get it when the price is right in a few years. We are still drilling the sweet spots in the Eagleford.

I went through the same type bust in 1983 when prices were high. We went out and found too damn much oil and the market collapsed. I went back to school and became a pharmacist.

Clearly, the corrupt, self-serving Paul Ryan is off to a fast start in his campaign to make Harry Reid look like a piker in the corruption arena.

Total cheap shot. As conservatives we believe in free markets. A ban on exporting oil, which is a global commodity, is the antithesis of free market.

If his wife’s family benefits from a free oil market, then so be it. I’m sure you benefit from economic freedom in your own business as well.

Used to be a Ryan fan. I have trepidations today.

But be aware that the lift of the restriction
lifts all boats. Ask the guys building the houses and cleaning the pools and catering the soirees of the investors who took put their money at risk. Circumspection, folks. Covet not what is your neighbor’s

Little companies is one of the assets mentioned.

Nothing wrong with being well off if you earn it.

I'm sure you benefit from economic freedom in your own business as well.

So it is economic freedom for Paul Ryan to sell out conservatives on every issue in a trillion-plus appropriations bill but feather his nest in the process.?

Some would call that corruption (or crony capitalism if you prefer a milder term for the sleaze involved with this deal that has Democrats cheering their total victory).

the lifiting of the ban on the export of oil is good for oil companies, and good for the taxpayer. It is a win win.

It is not a win for the taxpayer because Paul Ryan put us trillions more in debt to get the deal done.

It is not a win for national security because Obama's scamnesty efforts continue to be funded.

It is not a win for humanity because Ryan ensured Planned Parenthood received funding under the deal.

It is not a win for productive Americans because Ryan fully funded Obamacare with money we don't have.

Under no objective analysis can this corrupt deal be called a win for anyone except for the Democrats, crony capitalists in the oil and gas industry, and corrupt GOPe members like Paul Ryan.

True. And everything wrong with blood money.

To profit off of this deal required Paul Ryan to sell out the taxpayer by putting us on the hook for trillions more in debt, funding Planned Parenthood, funding Obamacare, and funding Obama's scamnesty. Nothing in the deal justifies these financial, moral, and national security costs.
