If you read The New York Timesâ story on President Barack Obamaâs private meeting with news columnists Friday morning, you may have caught one quote that made the President look particularly bad:
In his meeting with the columnists, Mr. Obama indicated that he did not see enough cable television to fully appreciate the anxiety after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, and made clear that he plans to step up his public arguments.
The President of the United States failed to understand that Americans were anxious after two major terrorist attacks in Western cities because he doesnât watch TV? Itâs an admission that opponents are sure to use to make the president seem out-of-touch at best, and unconcerned about a serious threat at worst.
Many politicos and journalists immediately saw the newsworthiness of the statement, especially after CNNâs Brian Stelter drew attention to it.

âMr. Obama argued that while there were potentially threats that would merit the kind of investment of lives and money equivalent to that made in the Iraq war, the Islamic State does not pose an existential threat to the United States and therefore the response should be measured. The United States needs to take on the group, in part to defend allies in the region, he said, but it should not be an all-out war.
Moreover, he added, part of the groupâs strategy is to draw the United States into a broader military entanglement in the region. A sustained but limited campaign may be slow and politically unsatisfying, but ultimately will be more successful, he contended.â......................Surprised anyone?
Perhaps if he ever attended the security briefings he would know these events occurred.
If Bowbama doesn’t read it in the paper or see it on TV (cable) it hasn’t happened....yet!
The media actively promotes leftist causes. Its purpose for existing is to support those who work for the downfall of this country.
He’s a waste even as a placeholder.
If you don’t see it on CNN, you are uninformed. If you do see it on CNN, you are misinformed!
He had to watch TV to “get it”?
Loser.
He has to wait for NYT and WaPo to make up his mind for him.
_I_ don’t & didn’t watch TV, and most certainly gathered the angst over the events.
Then again, I care about terrorists killing large numbers of citizens. Care as in thinking it’s a bad thing, that is; seems the Obama leans more toward whatever sensibilities motivated the attacks.
I guess the attack in San Bernadino didn't get much coverage on the Golf Channel.
By cable television he means ESPN or the Golf Channel.
Bump
Obama excused himself. Said he had to check ISIS multi-million dollar
wire-transfers to his foundation and library fund coming into Valerie's office
That quote resembles the current Fox News. I get my news from FreeRepublic, Drudge, and One America News.
Taqiyya.
If he were an American he wouldn’t need external points of reference, because he would understand intuitively.
Willfully out of touch.
Well I say never take anything for granted, still you should have a pretty good idea of where to look if you’re in doubt.
He might in some technical sense have managed to squeak through the legal doors for being American. With all the lying and falsification that has transpired on the way, it looks suspicious as “hell” but we don’t have any ironclad proof either.
But his heart is in la-la land as is that of our dear libbie crowds in general.
Obama is gone in 399 days!
