Rep. Melissa Sargent: Changing America’s gun culture (barf alert)
Capital Times ^ | 14 dec 2015

Enough.

For too long, politicians have sat back and ignored the reality facing our nation. Gun violence has become a widespread public health crisis. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their communities and it is beyond time we talked about guns in a different way. Unfortunately, this issue has divided our nation to the extent that meaningful discussions of gun control are seemingly impossible.

I submit that we must change the culture concerning guns in America.

We know that the United States is the only advanced country in the world that sees these mass shootings on a perpetual basis. This wasn’t always the case. Other nations have faced shootings like those we have seen here, and they have tackled the issue head on to stop these tragedies from happening again.

Yet Melissa is perfectly happy with ONE MILLION PLUS abortions of babies each year in this country.

And you stop gun violence by being defenseless?

"Other nations have faced shootings like those we have seen here, and they have tackled the issue head on to stop these tragedies from happening again."

Over the last century those "advanced" European nations have murdered more than 30 million of their own citizens. I prefer my chances here in the USA, "gun culture" and all.

We know that the United States is the only advanced country in the world that sees these mass shootings on a perpetual basis.

Not actually true, and a bit skewed by our much larger population. But let's take another look at that list of "advanced" countries and tell me how many of them have suffered under totalitarian rule or invasion within the last 100 years. Almost all of them.

Demoted to rep. melissa ‘private’. We are changing the gun culture. More people are buying guns and getting their CCW’s (which there shouldn’t be a requirement for) in record numbers. Was she schooled in Dumbassistan or something? Or just living in the lyin’ king’s fantasy land of lollipops, unicorns and rainbow/skittle skies.

Gun control, gun control, gun control.......That is all we hear every day. Guns are NOT THE PROBLEM DAMMIT, its the people BEHIND the gun. The gun is only a tool. When guns are no longer allowed in this country, another method of killing will surface, perhaps the bow and arrow, a knife, matches, whatever. I know many people who own or carry guns, not one of those guns has jumped out of the holster, closet or drawer and killed someone, nor did their owners. Find the crazies and ban them.

The seeming impossibility of meaningful discussion on gun control makes changing the culture of guns impossible.

So long as gun control advocates consider one-sided shaming, bullying, slandering and defaming gun owners (while their more extreme elements openly promote full confiscation) to be “meaningful discussion,” there’s absolutely nothing to talk about and therefore no way of promoting culture change.

Cultural change only happens in highly polarized societies through forceful means. Someone needs to explain that to this Congresscretin.

***I submit that we must change the culture concerning guns in America. ***

They have been trying this since the murder of Bobby Kennedy back in 1968. It has always failed because people are not as dumb as the MSM and politicians believe they are.

Bobby was murdered by a Palestinian immigrant raised as a Christian. Obviously the Christ part didn’t “take”.
