On the 100th anniversary of President Woodrow Wilson's inauguration in 2013 I wrote an op-ed published in the Richmond Post-Dispatch reminding its readers of the retrograde racial views of our 28th president that few Americans were aware of (except for historians of the Wilson presidency who have mentioned it in their works). Later, professor Randy Barnett of the Georgetown University Law Center quoted extensively from my article to call for the removal of Wilson's name from all public buildings in the country.
The issue of Wilson's racial views and policies then virtually disappeared from the public discourse until students at Princeton University occupied the president's office two days ago and demanded that all references to the university's most famous faculty member and President be erased from the campus. As of this writing, the university has agreed to consider the renaming of buildings and organizations at Princeton that bear Wilson's name.

Thought you might find this one interesting.
No.
We should scrub all memorials to Martin Luther King and WEB DuBois.
Yes, let’s make all of our history disappear. Let’s start at Ground Zero like the Cambodians. They built such a magnificent society based on that idea.
Might as well. The student babies at Mizzoo are already trying to get rid of Thomas Jefferson.
I’m okay with it............
Including the ones in Geneva Switzerland?
No, we should never let liberals hide their racist progressive past. It serves as a teaching tool today.
He should have mentioned FDR’s horrible history rejecting the European Jews fleeing the Nazis. My very liberal Jewish friend will not visit his memorial because of that policy. He hates the man.
It’s amazing how liberals think that things have gone “too far” when it winds up on their doorstep. Now that the gloves are off, I’d like to see FDR “scrubbed” from history due to his un-American internment of the Japanese-Americans.
Short answer: Yes.
Throw in FDR and LBJ and we’ve got a deal.
Yeah, but that was before the big switch.
I was watching a debate, a conservative vs. a liberal, and the conservative made the point that most Jim Crow supporters (KKK, etc.) were Democrats.
The liberal countered that that was before the big switch. That's when all the bad racist Democrats magically became Republicans, and all the good folks in the GOP magically became Democrats.
The lib didn't give any more details on that. No time line, etc. Kinda complicated, I guess. Probably caused by magnetic fluctuations in the earth's core, or something like that.
It is difficult to judge a person based on his actions within the context of the culture of their times.
Not a big fan of Wilson, but this crap isn’t the reason to hate him.
Start overseas. Start with the UN Human Rights consulate in Geneva, which is called “Palais Wilson” and the UNCHR is to build a satellite “embassy” in Washington to “monitor” the US. Oh, what Wilson wrought. That racist klansman, of the white man’s burden.
Yes — a country of such purity of heart, mind, and motivation as 2015 America can no longer abide memorials to the likes of Woodrow Wilson.
Wonderful! /sarc
Oh yeah, he also lied us into the war that ruined the 20th Century and locked up protesters. That's too trivial to mention, I guess. It's nothing compared to the fact that he liked a racist movie.
Much of history has been rewritten and this drivel is taught in government schools. There is no intellectual curiosity or critical thinking is those institutions.
Oh heck, let’s just erase all of American history and start afresh with whatever fantasy American history comes to mind. Just imagine the competition - the TV and media would go wild championing this or that fantasy! Think of the windfall ad revenues! You could make up the ads too! Oh, what a show ... ratings go through the roof! And it is all make believe ...
