WASHINGTON, D.C.—Democrat senators today sided with President Barack Obama in the growing conflict between the president and other federal and state officials on how to deal with Syrian refugees in the aftermath of ISIS’s terrorist attacks in Paris.
Earlier this week, Breitbart News reported on Obama’s authority under current federal law to bring refugees into the United States. The analytical report explained how governors have limited powers to hinder Obama’s plan (which they should use), but Congress can stop him cold.
For congressional action, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is attempting to advance two pieces of legislation to change how the United States would deal with possible refugees. The Expatriate Terrorist Act (S. 247) would change federal law to strip of their U.S. citizenship any adult American who takes an oath pledging allegiance to a foreign terrorist organization, or joins an overseas terrorist force to take up arms against the United States. And the Terrorist Refugee Infiltration Prevention Act (S. 2302) would bar refugees from countries in which substantial territory is held by terrorists, such as Syria, Iraq, and Libya.

It’s simple, it is 100% political. The establishment does not want to give him any shred of credibility and I hope he’s asked by a moderator in the next debate and further exposes these traitors
FUD!
I wish I could say what I REALLY think.
I think it’s more about Dems GLADLY RISKING AMERICAN LIVES in exchange for importing MORE DEMOCRAT VOTERS. Note how FEW of these refugees are Christian and the vast bulk are Muslim. Christians are either ‘not allowed’ or KICKED OUT like the home school family from Germany.
But the Republicans have the majority, surely McConnell can force a vote -— /sarc>
They're against it on general principles > IMO.
They want chaos here. They want some terrorists.
After the events in Paris on 11/13, I will be adding
this to my posts for the next week. I'm certain our
turn is coming again soon. We stand united against
Islamic extremists.
Some music for reflection if the mood strikes you.

An honorable mention also goes out to Lassana Bathily , a Muslim immigrant from Mali.
Mr. Bathily sheltered customers at the Jewish Deli and helped police by providing info
on the terrorists, and providing the location of survivors in the deli.

The blood’s other hands.
“It’s simple, it is 100% political.”
Just think how fast the political crap would go away if the State Legislatures determined who the Senators are. If a state does not want any “refugees”, then the Senators would be more apt to vote the wishes of the state, rather than the party.
Traitorats! That will be the name of demonicrats and their spawn for generations.
DemocRats cannot be trusted with the security of the US. Cruz and Trump ought to hit on this at every opportunity.
Pretty sad to note that our elected representatives seem to prefer potential terrorists to the American people.
Rather than get into the electoral politics, perhaps we should be asking why we continue to have a congress at all? If that legislative “check and balance” acts as a mere rubber stamp for the executive in practice, then what use is it?
Pretty sure I'm right there with you.
“ISIS intends to murder Americans and if the Democratic Party cannot distinguish between ISIS terrorists and Irish and Italian and Jewish and Cuban immigrants, then they are ignoring reality. I would note that the Expatriate Terrorist Act is very, very similar to legislation that was introduced in 2010 by Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman and Senator Scott Brown, both of whom apparently under the senator from Vermontâs view are un-American as well. I would note that at the time then-senator Hillary Clinton said about legislation virtually identical to my legislation âUnited States citizenship is a privilege. It is not a right. People who are serving foreign powers or in this case foreign terrorists are clearly in violation of the oath which they swore when they became citizens.â And yet, President Obama and the senator from New York consider the statement to be un-American.”
Rather than come up with a new and improved method for appointing kleptocrats, perhaps we should ask if congress has a useful role in the first place? If so, I haven’t seen much evidence of it in my lifetime.
I noticed the GOP never blocked anything when they were in the minority
“REMIND the people about how the Dems voted on these Bills.”
Good luck with that 43% of the American population are ambivalent about what takes place in politics. Unless of course it stops there flow of freebies!
