It is presumed that Congress has the power to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, but why doesn’t anybody challenge this? The Constitution forbids making ex post facto laws——and——if legislative amnesty is anything......it’s an ex post facto law, and clearly is UNCONSTITUTIONAL as such. You simply can’t go back & remake laws after-the-fact for political reason of favoring a certain group coveted for their votes.
A president has the power to PARDON criminals, but I don’t think the Constitution allows Congress or the President to grant immunity from prosecution for political reasons having nothing to do with law enforcement or justice. Illegals should be brought to justice & forced to plead guilty & beg for mercy BEFORE any talk of any pardon......& there should be only limited pardon , if any, ie permanent legal residence (once they are pardonned, they can’t be tried twice for the same crime), but no path to citizenship..and no right to vote—EVER-—for illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants have no right to demand anything. If anything, the American people should be suing illegal immigrants to take any income or property they’ve gotten through being here illegally...and those using stolen or fraudulent identities are lucky we don’t make them rot in a jail cell under multiple felony convictions for their crimes.
Again....why doesn’t anybody ask whence comes Congress’ power even to grant “amnesty” which is both ex post facto unconstitutional law & also illegal, political immunity from prosecution????? Why do Republicans allow themselves to be put on the defensive instead of coming up with affirmative arguments to bury those who malign them & put their opponents on the wrong side of “justice” and the law?????It’s not hard to do....finding the high ground & fighting from the high ground....
Ms Cruz has quite the establishment resume.
NO. Trump mentions deportation in his plan once and it's for the criminal illegals.
You don't read much.
Why doesn’t Ted bring it up, since he is a Senator?
My tag line explains it just fine why he doesn’t.
You are wrong. You are always wrong. Nothing you say or post is right.
I’m only posting this as a guide post to other freepers who may be drawn in.
If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were Carl Rove except he usually goes by “Vicky”.
No, he says deport them ALL, and then they wait in line to return LEGALLY. Expedite the ones who were productive and working.
Make up your ‘facts’ if you want.
Aha! It is not only me thinking that.
Only someone with a very weak mind would base his choice of the country's leadership on a faceless internet poster instead of a candidate's record.
Which will halt about 45 minutes after it starts, pursuant to an order from a Federal judge. Read history much? That's what happened to the enforcement of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Any candidate who does not move Congress to strip jurisdiction over all aliens from the Federal courts is not addressing this key issue. The rights of aliens within US jurisdiction are NOT the same as for citizens, no matter what the courts say.
watch the speech ...all illegals get deported ... period ...
Assholes annoy people. It closes their minds to someone they may support.
No his written plan doesn't say deport them all. It only says deport the criminals.
and then they wait in line to return LEGALLY. Expedite the ones who were productive and working.
Over-and-over again Trump has said they should be expedited back in without them waiting their turn in line.
Make up your âfactsâ if you want.
No you're the one making up "facts".
Like I said...
Okay. Good to know.
BTW, it's "Karl", and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be a Cruz supporter.
100% desperation BS. Cruz has had all year to disavow his longstanding support for 500% increase in H1B. He has zero credibility on his blatant flip-flop.
I hear you - it's not confidence-inspiring that he had to feel the heat before seeing the light. But there are no perfect candidates for the nomination; for example, Trump called Romney's plan "harsh" (or was it "cruel"), and was just a couple of years ago saying liberal things on a number of other issues.
Cruz is addressing where we are right now on legal immigration and the H1-B visa issue. His immigration plan remedies the impact of those two issue on American workers.
I haven’t seen Heidi Cruz’s name on the ballot. She was forced to be a term member of CFR as a condition of her employment. Both she and John Bolton, who is also a member, represented the conservative viewpoint on issues there.
You are really stretching to find issues to smear Cruz with.
Don’t forget that if it weren’t for Ted Cruz fighting the Gang of 8 bill, we would already have amnesty.
Since you have no idea to whom you are communicating with, it seems a bit childish for you to belittle me. For some reason it’s not enough for me to say that I like Cruz. Should I swear allegiance? Are you trying to convince me, or are you trying to marginalize a potential ally? These candidates will be vetted in a vicious fashion after the primary season. Should we wait until after that to test their weaknesses? Seems a bit myopic to me. Hillary made Obama’s birth an issue 7 years ago. Do you think she’s going to give Cruz a pass?
I just made this same point to her.. Assuming it’s a her.
