Clarion University Play Canceled Over Actors’ Race (Liberalism is a mental disorder)

CLARION (KDKA) - A group of students at Clarion University were set for the opening night of a stage production. Then, they got the news - "the show must not go on."

"We've put in all of this work and can't finish the last section, like nothing is going to get finished," said Courtney Chaplin, the stage manager for the play "Jesus in India."

Clarion University was told to cancel the play by the playwright.

The set hasn't been torn down yet, but the marquee outside Little Theater reads, "This production has been canceled."

The playwright cited "ethnic composition."

Marilouise Michel, Clarion University professor of theater and the play's director, explains what she was told.

"On Monday afternoon, I received an email from the playwright telling me that he demanded that we recast the show with Asian actors or shut down our production," she said.

A lot easier said than done for the primarily white state university.

"We don't have a large population of Asian students at the university," Michel said. "We opened our auditions to all of the students at the university."

Conservatives for years have been highlighting the intolerance of diverse ideas on college campi for years to a public that was disinterested.

What we have been highlighting has now gotten to the point were the general public sees. As bleak as the situation seems now, eventually, people push back

Unless it is in the contract the school signed to be allowed to do the play, he has no say on the matter.

If it is in the contract, the school has to abide.

Well, let me say this. I haven’t seen “Spectre” at this point but in one ad for something or other, it appears that the latest Moneypenny is a young black lady. Moneypenny was NOT black. LOL! Just sayin’....... So if some director/producer wants to cast an Asian in a particular role, WFC? They’re displaying diversity for cryin’ out loud. Oh, sorry, wrong diversity.

So a stage play about two young teenage semites traveling to a country populated by Aryans, must be portrayed using Asian (presumably oriental) actors only?

If the author stipulated ahead of time that the play cast had to include “Asian” actors, then the school is out of luck. If he didn’t, the school should sue the playwright for its expenses and potential profit.

Playwrights - especially ethnic snowflakes - have got to have airtight contracts with publishers about casting. I don’t get the hysteria lately over this crap. It’s why theater in America is practically in the sewer. It’s getting as bad as Europe.

A school near where I live has a small population of (black) Somalis. A friend of mine teaches there. She says the Somalis are frequently the targets of racial hatred...from the school's American blacks.
