On Election Day, I signed the Maine Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense petition to once again try to close the gun-show loophole that allows anyone with a fistful of dollars to purchase a gun without a background check. Many of the other people coming out of the polling place signed, too, but I despair of such a reasonable measure ever passing.
Why? Because we live in a gun-sick society.

"Sick of ANTI gunNERSs, sick of intimidation." There. That fixes it. Well, not really. I too noticed that the momunists working for nannie bloomers were outside the polling places during the last elections here. Of course they were outside the prescribed perimeter thus legal. But, the crap they were spewing, basically the same as this asshat was the same except they were promising and end to ALL domestic violence as well. Sadly, most of the ladies they approached bought it hook line and sinker. At the same time, one particular signature gathering assclown had another clip board with a petition to "tax and regulate marijuana" here in NV. Basically a route to recreational mj. It too gathered enough signatures to be on the 2016 ballot as an initiative. Hope this assclown beem remembers to thank a vet tomorrow for allowing him to try to deny us our rights.

to once again try to close the gun-show loophole that allows anyone with a fistful of dollars to purchase a gun without a background check. What a load of crap! There's no such thing.
If it were true, then WHY haven't these so-called investigative reporters gone to a gun show and done just that, bought a gun w/o a background check?
Why? Because it was tried several times, and failed....completely. So, the story was squashed.

Frankly, if I wanted to inspect “turd sign” up close, I’d take a look at the toilet bowl in the morning.
This twerp has been living off his twisted brain writing crap since the 80s. I doubt if he ever picked up a hammer and banged his thumb. Lives in Maine, probably bitches about everything that makes him sweat or really think.

Boo Hoo!
We Real Americans believe in the 2nd Amendmant.
We are sick of intimidation from the Anti-Gun nuts.
Common sense, history, the Founding Fathers and logic says that we MUST defend ourselves against thugs and an out of control government.
Did WWII teach the lefties nothing?
...Maybe they're not allowed to teach about WWII in school.
Maybe the president will pass an executive order that states that we can no longer discuss Stalin, Mao, or Polpot except in favorable terms.
Shhhhh! Don't mention any of this in Rhode Island. Sheldon Whitehouse will spearhead an amendment forbidding free speech.

Hey, Ace, hope that this doesn’t get your panties in a wad, but there are nearly 400 million guns in this country: gunwatch.blogspot.com/2015/09/us-will-reach-400-million-private.html
FYI, genius, the number of people who have bought guns, and later died, since the 1968 Gun Control Act mandated the Form 4473 is in the tens of millions. You’re NEVER going to track where guns passed down through inheritance are - many are sold to 3rd parties for the money, and NO ONE reports any of it. IOW, its a bit late to close the barn door on this one. A few more or less sold at gun shows is pretty much irrelevant, so why bother?

What percentage of gun-related assaults involve a gun purchased “via the gun show loophole”? A vanishingly small number, if not actually zero.

Delaware has no so-called “gun show loophole. You buy a gun; you are checked. IIRC, even antique gun buyers must be checked. The gun shows I’ve been to in Delaware have seen the commercial companies take over from the smaller sellers.

I have given as presents a pistol to a brother, a pistol to my daughter, a pistol to my son, and a Mosin for deer hunting to my son-in-law. I also sold an extra Enfield for deer hunting to a good friend. These transactions are examples of what the people who want to close "the gun show loophole" are after. Those along with leaving your guns to your loved ones when you pass. They want gun ownership recorded.
I have bought numerous guns at gun shows and have never run into the loop hole.

That sounds a lot like electioneering! Isn't that against the law?

I suppose that as long they stay outside a certain distance it’s probably perfectly legal. Irritated the crap out of me but since they weren’t violating any rules and regs.....
