For some time now I've been saying that gay activists will overplay their hand and that the bullying will backfire. I've also said that we can outlast the gay revolution and ultimately, by God's grace, turn the moral tide in America.
Of course, to speak like that is to invite all kinds of scorn and ridicule, not to mention the ugliest death wishes you could imagine. How dare we not roll over and die!
But events from the last 7 days remind us that, even though the cultural battles promise to be long and difficult, many Americans are ready to push back.
To begin with, the significance of the election results from last Tuesday can hardly be overstated.
In Kentucky, while the liberal media mocked Kim Davis the people of her state stood with her, electing Matt Bevin as governor in a crushing and unexpected victory over Attorney General Jack Conway.
And make no mistake about it: This was a direct statement about religious freedoms and redefining marriage.
After all, it was Conway who rose to national fame last year when he refused to defend the state's ban on same-sex 'marriage,' despite his oath of office, explaining to Time magazine that, "Once I reached the conclusion that the law was discriminatory, I could no longer defend it."
I guess the people of Kentucky didn't get the memo that the ship has sailed and the culture wars are over.
Then, in Houston, lesbian activist mayor Annise Parker suffered a stinging defeat when her "anti-discrimination" bill, which focused on LGBT "rights," was crushed by the voters.
In the aftermath of the massive defeat 62 to 38 percent Parker was reduced to insulting those who voted against the bill, calling them "transphobes" and more.
So, the people of Houston, America's fourth largest city, are a bunch of transphobes.
Or, perhaps the triumph of LGBT activism is not so inevitable and there are real issues that having nothing to do with "homophobia" and "transphobia"? And perhaps there's something to the fact that some strongly conservative Republican presidential candidates are polling better than Hillary Clinton?
Perhaps this really is time for pushback?
While we may be ready to push back we are being outnumbered, FAST.
We are not producing enough replacement people and the illegals are squirting them out like mice.
To do any good at all and for the push back to have any meaning illegals must be stopped and the anchor babies and other brown ones must be programmed. Otherwise, we become central america or even the middle east.
I never stopped pushing back.
You’re right about the immigration, but they aren’t importing the sodomite agenda.
No, but they ARE importing people that will do whatever the "leaders" order them to do in return for hand outs. And, that includes NOT speaking out against the gay fascists.
.
Truth. I know many lovely black Christian ladies who are revolted by the sodomites, and have always and will always vote straight Democrat.
OK.
That is a different subject.
This author is way too optimistic. The genie is out of the lamp on this one and so many others and it’s not going back. We have to understand the times we are living in - and they are not good ones from this point forward. The western world is collapsing. The ideas we once believed in we no longer hold as being relevant to modern life. As space abhors a vacuum other ideologies (Islam and Gaia worship to name two) are rushing in to fill the void. The foundation of the western world was the Judeo/Christian beliefs and associated values.
Look at Europe and especially Britain - we are just a couple steps behind them. We have had the light and the truth preached to us in this country and we have rejected it for kinder and gentler fables. Enter the new paganism/mysticism.
Simple things like telling the truth, being responsible, being courteous, showing humility, not expecting more out of this life than it can offer and not using others as useful objects for our own selfish purposes have little value for us now. We want our Utopia now, damn it, so get the h-— out of my way! No nation is ever perfect, but we were a lot better than we are now. Without God there is little reason to work on character development and no power whatsoever to carry it out. We still expect traditional values from others but can’t quite bring ourselves to submit to the Author of their source.
All this could not have happened at a worse time as our government sinks us deeper into debt and our cultural leaders empower the worst elements of our society. Both are completely out of touch with reality as our enemies are looming larger and larger on the horizon and our world appears on the brink of war and economic collapse. So buckle up! It’s going to get very interesting and a lot scarier going forward. But hey... at least we aren’t fooled by that stupid Jesus stuff anymore, right?
“No, but they ARE importing people that will do whatever the “leaders” order them to do in return for hand outs. And, that includes NOT speaking out against the gay fascists.”
I agree. I also believe that hand may be overplayed by the left.
Your pessimism isn’t going to help either.
Bump for truth
America isn’t going to be turned around with a political solution when our real problems are moral. When was the last real spiritual revival in our nation where the average American was grieved over our own sins individually and those of our nation corporately? You kind of have to go back a ways.
The latest Pew research poll I saw said the nation is becoming more secular. There is a point that can be reached where a person or a nation can no longer be turned around. It seems that when laws are passed that institutionalize evil (as we are now doing) we are very close to that point. After 9/11 churches were full - as everyone was worried. But it didn’t last long. It is usually during very hard times that people reach for something outside of themselves for strength - when life here doesn’t look so rosy. In our past that meant returning to our Christian faith.
Today most don’t have a faith to return to. I have hope for individuals but no longer for our country. I love Ted Cruz and would love to have him as our next president but he alone won’t make much of a difference if we as a nation don’t see a need to become different than what we are. What will change our hearts and the direction of our country if we reject what God says about us and reject his Son who died for us? “And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” I see some individuals doing that but nationally I see an arrogant self-sufficiency, a culture with a clenched fist shaking it in God’s face saying, “I’m going to do what I damn well please!” We want the benefits of our previous traditional values while cutting out their source. I have hope but it’s not in America.
