Trump rejected some risque Saturday Night Live skits 'because he wants to stay leading in Iowa'

Donald Trump has vetoed the 'too risque' Saturday Night Live skits because he says he wants to stay leading in Iowa. During an interview with Fox News' Bill O'Reilly that aired on Friday, Trump apparently made the comments amid a recent poll that found Iowa divided between him and fellow Republican candidate Ben Carson. When speaking about why he nixed some of the SNL writers' ideas ahead of his appearance tonight, he told O'Reilly that he was keeping likely Iowa caucus-goers in mind, CNN Money reported.

'There were a couple that were too risque. Because you know, the poll just came down, I'm leading in Iowa, I want to stay leading in Iowa,' Trump told O'Reilly.

'We sit down and we look at like 30. They have all these writers, there must have 100 writers,' he continued.

'I walk into the room, there are 100 - and they're all about 17 years old, OK?'

'They're all young... But they come up with many, many skits and you pick the ones you think you like.'

Trump's upcoming appearance hosting SNL will be his second since 2004 when he was still the host of The Apprentice.

Trump said he thinks some of the episode is going to be 'really great'.

Smart move. If he had done the risque skits, I would have questioned him.

SNL’s job is to get a laugh. I don't fault them for that but Trump has bigger issues to deal with. IF this story is true, his judgment was correct.

He understands and respects his base. How refreshing.

He also nixed a skit in 2004 when they wanted him to wear a chicken suit.

Mr. Trump has shown himself to be a highly moral man and like many FReepers, doesn’t smoke dope or drink alcohol. It’s heartening to know that he’s anti-smut, as is Governor Sarah Palin who also made sure her SNL appearance was free of low-grade “humor”.

It annoys me that any candidate must go on this show that hasn’t been funny since Martin Short left.

Although I’m a happy Trump supporter (who is much funnier than any of the writers on SNL) I must agree with Ben Carson that this is below the dignity of the office.

I don’t hate Trump, but the quote is that he nixed the skits “to stay leading in Iowa.” I’m willing to accept him as he is. There’s no need to make him into something he’s not.

What? Trump won’t wear a diaper like Al Franken or a dress like Guliani?

Oh God, lets hope Trump doesn't say that on SNL. That would be racist!

miss marmelstein :.." that this is below the dignity of the office."

The dignity of the office occurred when , on live television, President Klinton stained the little blue dress,
and LIED to the American people and said:"I did not have sex with that woman , Monica Lewinsky !!"
when we all knew better , and he is still reverred as Hitlery's consort !!

Rudy Julie-Annie dressed in drag. And that was before he ran for President. Undignified, though kinda funny. Would be called “homophobic” if done today.

His preferred delicacies are of the canine sort.

Trump will be the best role model President that we have had in years.

He will bring respect back to White House.
