Chicago gun violence: Each child's dying breath
Chicag Tribune ^ | 07 nov 2015

Over time we all will learn more about the savaging of Tyshawn Lee, the basketball devotee who won't celebrate his 10th birthday. Multiple gunshot wounds pre-empted that prospect Monday afternoon. Depending on where the first bullet hit, his body responded as best it could: His nerves likely activated chemical neurotransmitters that created an atmosphere of pain, shock and fear in his brain. Owing to massive tissue damage, loss of oxygen-carrying blood or both, Tyshawn ultimately drew one dying breath.

We hope every Illinois lawmaker finds a private moment to imagine that annihilation of a child on this city's South Side. Especially the Chicago lawmakers who have blocked legislation that would stiffen sentences for gun crimes.

Maybe, as is custom for the lawmakers, they'll decry the violence on their streets, do absolutely nothing about it and move on. They're absorbed by big battles they'll fight in Springfield. If the lawmakers again duck responsibility — if they shrewdly wait for the rest of us, too, to move on — the dying breath of Tyshawn Lee still will faintly echo the dying breaths of so many Chicago children:

--at least they give the NRA credit for being on the side of stiffer sentencing of violent crime--

Rahm’s fault for not living on the South Side and for the lib policies of the last 55 years.

There are, of course, lots of causes. In no particular order:
* The Great Society scam
* Welfare
* Anti-family government policy
* No father at home
* Purposeful destruction of Christianity
* No family structure
* Many children to one unwed mother so she gets paid more
* Drug culture
* Glorification of the thug lifestyle
* Democrats keepin’ them on the plantation

That’s just a few causes.

None of these can be discussed in public anymore. Only the weapons used in the final act.

Hey Trib!

Try examining the CULTURE they live in!

Failed schools with failed curricula.
Fatherless homes, due to welfare, contraception, and abortion.
Abandonment of religion.
Drug culture is the only business model they learn.
A catch and release justice system that undermines law enforcement.
oh...and Politicians who thrive on exploiting them.

Chicago should have stiffer gun laws. Oh, wait. That can’t be the solution.

but mostly, the reason is because Tyshawn was black

blacks murder blacks because that’s what they do

When whites kill, it’s about hate. When blacks kill, it’s about guns. Who is being held accountable and why?

The first entry on your list is actually Number One.

Most of the others are derivatives/side effects of that one.

The kid was murdered because of his father’s gang affiliation.It was a targeted assassination.

Chicago violence is a matter of the heart and there is no law of man that can touch that.

how do you get stiffer penalties for murder? should someone get stiffer penalties if they murder with a knife or an axe? the only hope for remedy to this awful situation of black people and children dying in Chicago is stronger families and a rejection of liberalism.

For Tyshawn the locals are approaching ISIS terror tactics.

This was far beyond the usual thuggery, even for Chicongo.

Chicago Police: 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee lured into alley, shot to death

http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/06/us/chicago-tyshawn-lee-shooting/
“We’re pretty certain that this is not an accident. He was not a bystander.”

The child was targeted, according to McCarthy, because of his “family relationship with a member of a gang.”

Where does it go from here?

Also note , the article says NOTHING about the circumstances of Tyshawn’s murder????

Yes most of Illinois legislatures are in fact slugs.
This murder did not come from Springfield, but from the Black Culture of violence and ignorance; propagated by Hollywood and the US government.

I am a fan and a student of a TV series called The Wire. Although the 5 year series ended several years ago, it predicted exactly the incident in question where a kid became a serious liability and was eliminated. In our society today, a kid can commit serious crimes and receive no punishment because he is a kid.

I can not stress enough the understanding of today that can be gleaned from watching and in fact studying the various characters that make up the narrative of the Wire. The Wire is set in Baltimore and all the people recently/currently in the news there are depicted in the fictional TV series of several years ago.

The Wire is the police wire tapping to gain intelligence to develop evidence to make a case. The money, effort and day to day grind result in the solving of a specific case, but in the end after 5 years of extreme effort, the situation on the streets is virtually the same as if none of the effort and expense took place.

The language is extreme. But disregard the bad language to get the message being delivered

From another news report-—””””This is a different level,” the superintendent said. “These are noncombatants now being assassinated.”””

Chicago has truly become a ‘war zone’. Non-combatants, collateral damage, etc is the new politically correct way to describe this Democrat Ghetto.

Personally, I think we need to stop drawing attention to it. They keep it in their areas and kill each other. As long as it stays that way, don’t really care.

On return from ‘Nam there were 7 murders on my block alone in ‘68, all committed by the same teen age street gang. That was before the war-on-poverty had any impact on them.

All murderers within the gang were from broken homes, however. Most murders were Italians killing teenage Mexican illegals who were invading the neighborhood.

The gang would go to the local businessmen and demand money to protect the neighborhood from the spics. The elderly Polish owner of the small candy store refused and they beat him down with their fists and left. The elderly man died 15 minutes later of a heart attack. I include that in the murders. The gang also burned down the lumber store for the same reason. But nobody died in that.

Decades earlier Capone, Nitti, etal were doing exactly the same thing in the same neighborhood.

We are all sinners. Some of us consciously reject sin and modify our behavior. Some modify behavior due to social pressure as described by DeTouqeville. But some of us feel pressure to go anti-social, which is yielding to our sinful nature.
