Cops can’t quit, There’s no other job they’re suited for. They can’t act normal and serve burgers. Cops are cops because they want to be cops because they’re made to be cops. They could make a lot more money in other fields but, then again, they couldn’t be themselves.
My FRiend, you might be onto something right there.
cops/robbers
red team/blue team
The Cops may or may not deserve murder charges. I’ll wait for more information.
IF it’s true that the father decided to run from the police while his six year old son was along, then he definitely deserves a horse whipping, at the least!
In my humble opinion....
My DA would not prosecute.
Military people seem to manage all the time. There is nothing in the mindset of a cop that makes them any more ‘untrainable’ so to speak for civ life than combat infantry that saw action. There are a lot of jobs just as demanding and narrow focus as police and people manage. Cops quit for many reasons and become all manner of things every single day of the year.
They can if they want to just like anyone else.
Maybe it s exacty what it needs rgt now.
Maybe it will start some well needed, earnest housecleaning.
When America stopped being Dodge City and became New York City, the problems began.
When people handled justice and the local Lawman didn’t have the ACLU telling him what color was off limits for what crime, crime was low. There were not nearly the problems of today. People were FAR MORE CIVILIZED because if they acted like animals and outlaws, they were treated exactly the way they were.
The revolutionary war Americans had very very few of our issues. Even in the 40/50ss, despite the ‘civilizing’, every small town in America had actual law, not Al Sharpton wannabees.
There was no need for SWAT teams and PR departments and a thousand prisons. You screwed up, you paid the price. And women could walk the street after dark without mace and a 44. Kids could play in a park without a liberal POS calling child welfare for abandonment.
Thats bad? Not in my book. Thats desirable. Men took care of their own. And their neighbor’s too. No bad there. Scum got taken to the county line. Or when it acted really bad either did serious time or just disappeared.
Society worked.
It is not released because it doesn’t fit the WH narrative.
This country was much more civilized when "old west justice" was the norm.
The historical role of "law enforcement" in America is often completely misunderstood, and the change of this role has coincided with the urbanization of America (as well as, not coincidentally, our moral decline). The traditional small-town or rural sheriff wasn't hired to serve as a security guard or a revenue collection agent. He didn't serve to protect the law-abiding citizenry. He was there to protect an accused criminal from an armed posse and ensure that the accused was subject to a trial by jury.
The sheriff was usually the most lightly-armed man in his jurisdiction.
The Avoyelles Parish coroner said Wednesday that he was told Few went down a dead-end road and then put his vehicle in reverse when some of the pursuing officers opened fire,...
This paragraph, as written, suggests the vehicle was going down a dead-end street, hit the end, came under fire from the pursuing police, and only after that the driver started backing-up.
Could be just bad writing/editing.
And if so, that’s the escape clause for the officers. A common one at that.
The fact that the State Police spokesman says the video is “extremely disturbing” suggests events transpired as written.
From: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/nov/05/louisiana-police-deny-car-reversing-six-year-old-shot
“The particular placement of the cars - and a spray of glass from the passenger’s side of Few’s car - seems to indicate Few was not backing toward the officers. His car was perpendicular to them, and the officers’ shots hit the driver’s side broadside.”
You sir are a sage and your words are gold. Let it come to pass.
Few and one of the marshals on the scene had prior personal conflict. That is a very pertinent piece of information at the end of the article.
Greenhouse has 2 fulltime jobs plus a part time job.
If one cop pulls a person over and is rude and orders the guy around like a Nazi storm trooper, everyone the guy knows is going to know about it.
You both make very good points. An immediate, and easy, way to start the reform process would for cops to just be POLITE. Maybe that sounds trivial, but it's not. It sets the stage.
When I walk up to someone, I always start the conversation with a "good morning" type of thing. And guess what? If the other person is my mailman, a store clerk, or whatever, I'll get a "good morning" back.
That just doesn't happen in my conversations with today's cops. I say "good morning". I get back a condescending why-are-you-bothering-me glance. So now I'm a bit off-put, and the conversation hasn't even started.
Good morning, please, thank you...common civility...all are missing from most cops' vocabularies these days.
Sometimes satan can be over a Christian target, keep in mind.
Imagine there’s no Christ. (That would be superfluous for you.)
