Donald J. Trump may have lost his grip on Iowa, as the second poll in two days shows the billionaire Republican presidential candidate trailing Ben Carson in the state that kicks off the nominating process.
A new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll shows Mr. Carson with support of 28 percent of the likely participants in Iowas Republican caucuses, with Mr. Trump at 19 percent. In August, Mr. Trump was leading Mr. Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, by a margin of 23 to 18. The poll has a margin of error of five percentage points.
Mr. Trump frequently parades his strong poll numbers as a top qualification, raising questions about how he will respond if a string of polls show his support falling. In an interview with Fox Business Network on Thursday, he maintained that he was not worried.
Well see what happens, but certainly, we have a long road to go, he said.
Fridays survey, which follows a poll from Quinnipiac University on Thursday that showed Mr. Carson overtaking Mr. Trump in Iowa, revealed the challenges that the real estate mogul and reality television star faces in courting evangelical Christian conservatives. Only 32 percent said they were sure that Mr. Trump is a committed Christian, while 62 percent said they found it attractive that Mr. Carson was guided by his faith.
Among the other Republican candidates, Senator Ted Cruz comes in third place at 10 percent, while everyone else remains stuck in single digits.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Rodham Clinton topped Senator Bernie Sanders by a margin of 48 to 41 percent.

I love Ben, but wonder if he could destroy Hillary like Trump or Cruz would.
Nominee needs to be able to neutralize her or he won’t even get in office........
On the other hand, this hardly fits the Cruzers' narrative that he is taking IA.
Good news for Trump: he doesn't need IA, and can still wrap up by Super Tuesday without IA.
Carson can have Iowa. Trump will still win NH. And all the others will drop out like flies.
Is the disgust for career politicians so great that they would rather vote for Ben Carson than Ted Cruz?
Still not sure what to make of the Carson surge. I'm sure there's something to it as I see the enthusiasm on Twitter and other social media. Still a lot of unknowns about the guy. Reminds me of where we were four years ago at this very time with Herman Cain.
Carson is a great candidate if you oppose the 2nd amendment and support amnesty for illegals.
RE: I love Ben, but wonder if he could destroy Hillary like Trump or Cruz would.
The man’s got no bombast in him.
Will this excite people other than the base? I don’t think so.
I was joking with a friend who had insomnia the other day. I said, you should vote for Ben Carson.
President Carson’s State of the Union speech will cure you :)
It should be as simple as “if you criticize Carson, you’re a racist”...
‘cuz that’s how it was with Obama.
Carson seems to be believing it now as his EGO has emboldened him to finally expose his BLACKNESS and his admiration for AL Sharpton.........
Playing the race card early, catching onto O's coattails. Wrong move Carson............
Evangelical is a buzz word used by the libs’ which means Christians or people of faith. Sounds to me like the Christians are being very vocal in these states and I love it!
I don’t, because they are not picking a potential winner.
And if you have insomnia...
If it is true he said he wants to end Medicare, then he will destroy himself.
I agree that Ted Cruz would be a better fit for evangelicals, for that matter even Donald Trump, for all of his faults, would be a better fit; Dr. Carson is not a Christian, he belongs to a cult, granted a much more benign cult than Mormonism, but still a cult. This does not make sense to me at all.
If Carson were ever to stop the Trump campaign, the puppet masters would destroy Dr. Carson in no time and the elite will try to force-feed us Jeb, or someone equally awful.
Somebody should tell the real Dr. Carson supporters they're being played. Meanwhile, it'll be fun to see how Trump plays this one out.
Now, we know why the Iowa Corn Whores faux conservatives for ethanol favor Carson.
Carson favors burning food as an expensive and worthless gasoline additive, which needs our tax $’s to subsidized this bs.

May 6, 2015 - Newly minted Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson told an Iowa ... oil industry subsidies to pay for new ethanol blending stations.
I personally count him out as a possible candidate because of his stance on assault weapons permissible ownership being a matter of where you live (i.e., rural versus urban). He has no business in qualifying the Second Amendment like that.
I think this is just the GOPee pitting yet another candidate against Trump....the people of Iowa are the ‘bible belt’ but they don’t like Ben’s type of ‘cult’ religion....
I’m sure when Trump starts his ad campaign, candidates will drop like flies...I’m not a bit worried about Trump, you don’t get to where he is in life with out some knowledge of winning the game....
And I would worry if I was the GOPee, they don’t have the money that Trumps people have to back Trump...he’s a sure win for 2016....
Fella, that gave me a big laugh!!!! :0)
