It isnt acceptable in polite society to support Donald Trump, I am told.
Americas bullies the sneering, we know better than you establishment classes have made many cower in silence rather than proclaim that Trump is a tremendous presidential candidate and has earned their support.
It is a replay of the worst aspects of high school peer-pressure, about whats OK and what isnt, based on selfish interests and prejudices.
Well, enough of that. Trump is already changing America for the better and is encouraging us to boldly stand up for our beliefs about whats best for our nation and best for our fellow Americans.
So lets get right to it. Shifting America back on course requires Donald Trump as the Republican nominee. Not only is he the only Republican candidate who could win the general election, but he is the only choice Republican voters should consider (and should consider themselves lucky to have on their side).
In no particular order, here are the top 20 reasons why:
1. He is not your ordinary politician.
2. Trump is not reliant on donors.
3. Yes, he doesnt have much of a filter. Bravo.
4. He speaks for us little people.
5. Make no mistake, there is an establishment plot against him.
6. Diplomacy.
7. His business accomplishments.
8. Hes pro-women.
9. A stellar first family.
10. A man of sound morals.
11. The celebrity factor is actually a huge plus.
12. His policies are spot-on, particularly immigration.
13. He can bring in independents.
14. The naysaying is rooted in careerists self-interests.
15. Negotiation skills.
16. Many Latinos love him.
17. African-Americans love him, too.
18. Heck, Americans idolize him.
19. By process of elimination
20. If he doesnt earn the nomination, there is no hope for American politics.

What are Trump's positions? Why are his current positions (declared political party) to be believed, or trusted?
Why is the usual need for candidate vetting being excused as unnecessary for Donald Trump?
Who is this man?
Please tell those of us who "just don't get it" why this man is qualified and why you want this man to be president of the United States.
If your only defense of Trump is to go on the offense against those who "don't get it," don't bother.
Please say something adult and persuasive.
21. Because, America!
“Make America Great Again !”
If find your prequalifications for discussion eerily similar to the dictates of Obergruppenführer Speaker-to-Be Paul Ryan on his deigning to run for Speaker.
A leader is a person who possesses a set of qualities that are considered desirable by those who follow for a particular set of circumstances and at a particular time. I learned that in business school.
The job of the president of the US is to lead. We’ve lost sight of that so we demand complicated 100 step plans to do big things like “bring jobs back” or “end hunger”. But, in America, we used to let the invisible hand of the people work out the details and the nation’s leader just pointed us at the problem. The Constitution does not permit him to strong arm Congress or to set economic policy.
So, a leader leads and he hires experts to advise. If he does that right, the people follow and say, “what can I do to help?” Remember JFK’s “ask not” quote? That is what leaders do.
Trump is a leader with a proven track record in leading. Other than Carson, the rest are politicians with a proven track record of not delivering on promises, except for those given to big donors. Carson has no real organizational leadership experience. His leadership qualities come from his expertise in a specialty and not in a general ability to lead, which Trump does have.
Reagan was a leader with big plans and no details in 1980. He was the right man for a particular time and place. Trump is that man right now.
Trump is far from the perfect candidate, because he doesn’t agree 100 percent with me.
Who else do we have, the sleepy doctor who “wants what Sharpton wants” and who is for strict gun control, and is essentially a white guilters dream since he’s black and has an R after his name.
Bush, the pro-illegal alien, pro-amnesty poster-boy?
Fiorina, who lost her senate race by a huge margin just a couple of years ago, and is in low single digits?
Rubio, another amnesty supporter?
Paul, another low single digit guy?
I like Cruz, but the media has really done a number on him, he may move up, but what if he doesn’t?
You couldn’t possibly want Lindsey, or Rick?
So, who is left? At least Trump exhibits a willingness to fight to win. The gop “leadership” is looking for another sap like McCain and Romney who didn’t want to deny the first black candidate his place in the sun. Hillary is the “historic” candidate this time around, and the “leadership” wants someone who won’t put up a fight against her. They want to get invited to all the cool cocktail parties, and if Hillary, the first woman candidate loses, they might not get those invitations.
Ronald Reagan was a 2-term governor of CA.
I just thought it would be helpful to learn if Trump supporters could give specifics, something beyond slogans or personal attacks.
Diplomacy???? Trump????
Three of them actually.
That is all well and good. But, why is it that Trump’s supporters have to be ‘accountable’ regarding this first? Is it because he is the front-runner?
My point is that there are other candidates, too. So far this year, I’ve seen no one here even utter a good word about Bush, very little on Kasich, or a lot of the others.
Support for a candidate is just that. It demands no accountability beyond that personal decision and certainly not within the realm of someone else’s understanding or approval.
1. Build the wall, secure the borders, deport the illegals, end anchor babies - save the country.
2. Cut the taxes, cut the spending, cut the govt, shutter the EPA, get a handle on trade deals - create environment for growth and jobs, save the economy.
3. Strengthen our military - make America secure.
4. Anything else is gravy.
I don’t think there is a contingent of Bush and Kasich supporters on FR.
If you believe you shouldn’t need to qualify why you support Trump, why have you asked others to vet their candidate?
>>Ronald Reagan was a 2-term governor of CA.
I turned 18 in 1980, so I had the privilege of voting for the first time in November of that year. As a teenager, I was surrounded by typical teenagers who think that we’re going to change the world. Most of them vote democrat because they believe the Progressive line.
I broke ranks and voted for Reagan not because he did stuff in California, a state that has been a great hot mess for decades. I voted for Reagan because he was a man who stood as a LEADER and had a vision. He didn’t have a big bag of goodies to hand out, or a bunch of unworkable “plans” to direct the people to do things they don’t want to do.
He told me that he wanted to make America great again after the traumas of Vietnam, Watergate, and Carter. He was the last person to run for president who had an inspirational message. After Reagan, it has always just been “vote for the non-Democrat”.
Trump is the first leader to run for the office since Reagan. I want a leader and a fighter; not a scholar, a debate club expert, or a politician. His vision has been inspiring to me since I read “The Art of the Deal” almost 30 years ago.
The times when I’ve spoken out on a candidate’s positions have been just that. I don’t recall asking anyone to justify their support for them, specifically. I don’t have a particular dog in that hunt other than to do my level best to see that Jeb Bush does not get the nomination as I’ve said here multiple times.
For the record, I tolerate Trump to the extent that my candidate, Cruz, tolerates him. I am amused at the consternation that Trump’s candidacy causes GOPe, Democrats, Media and some purist conservatives.
1) Build the wall and remove illegals
2) Lower, simpler tax rates
3) Close specific mosques that are that are breeding mooselimb radicals
4) Adjust the trade laws and make trade deals to bring back jobs to America
5) MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
6) Say Merry Christmas at Christmas and all that that means.
7) Whatever else that Trump is, no one can dispute his strong leadership skills and his love of this Country.
All that being said, I still prefer Ted Cruz but I have to face the world as it is, and my guy is at best in third place {which can change over time}.
Ronald Reagan: "In 1964 I became cochairman of Californians for Barry Goldwater. I went up and down the state with a campaign speech Id written that wasnt too different in tone and message from my GE presentations. The speech seemed to go over very well.
One night a few weeks before the election I addressed a fundraiser at the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles. When the evening was over, a delegation of high-powered Republicans waited for me. They asked whether I would deliver that same speech on nationwide TV if they raised the money to buy the time. I said yes and suggested that, instead of just having me in a studio alone, they bring in an audience to get a little better feel. They readily agreed.
The night that the tape of the speech was to air on NBC, Nancy and I went over to another couples home to watch it. Everyone thought Id done well, but still you dont always know about these things. The phone rang about midnight. It was a call from Washington, D.C., where it was three a.m. One of Barrys staff called to tell me that the switchboard was still lit up from the calls pledging money to his campaign. I then slept peacefully. The speech raised $8million and soon changed my entire life.
Although I didnt put a title on it, it later became known as "A Time for Choosing."
Mr.Robinson gave you the answer.
