Allow ban on guns inside campus buildings to stand (barf alert)

The National Rifle Association and its supplicants in legislatures around the country and the U.S. Congress have a ready and facile answer for the problem of gun violence in the United States:

More guns.

If only the students inside that Oregon community college were armed when a student killed nine and injured nine others Oct. 1. If only teachers in the nation's high schools carried guns. If only carrying firearms was legal everywhere.

But it's a fantasy the firearms industry has inflated in the minds of supporters.

And it's fantastical to think that lightly trained citizens packing guns will either prevent or alter the path of a determined shooter. The greater risk is that more arms means more shootings and more deaths. And that's why a bill to allow guns inside university buildings in Wisconsin is such a bad idea.

Since 2011, concealed weapons have been legal on the grounds of public colleges and universities but schools can ban weapons inside the buildings. Rep. Jesse Kremer (R-Kewaskum) and Sen. Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) want to repeal the University of Wisconsin System's ban. It's a response, Kremer claims, to violence near the UW-Milwaukee campus.

"Crime is on the rise around the cam

The gangstas in Chicago and elsewhere seem to do quite well in being able to shoot to kill without having undergone extensive training.

Well, If I was a crazy brain dead Liberal with a grudge, I’m sure a Sign would work if I was Literate. Hope it isn’t written in Cursive though, that could be a problem.

I think I’d go with Molotov Cocktails instead. Then I can blame Big Oil, Big Bottle, Big Rag and Big Matches for my Crime Spree.

“lightly trained citizens”; hhhmmm, I wonder how many of those lightly trained citizens are already graduates of multiple tours in the Sand Box?
A pretty good percentage I would bet.

Yeah. Same old groveling liberal line:

"More Guns=More Crime"

I go with Lott's proactive bumper sticker:

"More Guns=Less Crime"

Mass shooters always choose Target-Rich Environments (gun-free zones): Schools, theaters, malls, MacDonalds, etc.

I simply cannot understand why simps like these continue to cling to the passive-personality model that only invites and aggravates terroristic acts.

Because cowering in a corner and throwing office items (tape dispensers/staplers, etc.) is so much more effective at deterring said "determined shooter" than "lightly trained" citizens packing heat....

The really scary part is that these folks don't have a clue how nuts they are......and they are walking free among us.
