The U.S. Supreme Court could announce as early as Tuesday whether it will hear a challenge to a suburban Chicago law banning firearms commonly known as assault weapons.
If the court agrees to hear the case, it would cast a shadow over similar bans in seven states. But declining to take it up would boost efforts to impose such bans elsewhere, at a time of renewed interest in gun regulation after recent mass shootings.
Gun rights advocates are challenging a 2013 law passed in Highland Park, Illinois, that bans the sale, purchase, or possession of semi-automatic weapons that can hold more than 10 rounds in a single ammunition clip or magazine. In passing the law, city officials cited the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut and a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.
The ban also lists certain specific rifles, including those resembling the AR-15 and AK-47 assault-style firearms.

We know how Breyer, Ginsburg, Kagan and Sotomayor will vote--against the Constitution.
We know how Alito, Thomas and Scalia will vote--for the Constitution. Hopefully, also Roberts, who is at least consistant on the Second Amendment. But Kennedy?
Once again, our American way of life comes down to one judge.
I only wish we could just go to Gander Mountain and buy one, I mean I`ve heard that Class III permit costs a bundle and requires jumping thru some complex goobermint hoops!

The 2nd Amendment hangs by a thread. One scotus judge voting the wrong way could trigger CWII.
That seems one good thing about Trump. He’s going to drag them screaming and kicking into the battle, but into the battle they will go.
And this by a fellow who has been characterized as a “union Democrat.”
The GOP has sunk that low. I see signs that God does not want to leave them there, even if “the glory goes to a woman” (figuratively speaking, and no sexual aspersions to the Donald).

Note. SCOTUS has not decided on assault weapons.
SCOTUS could find against inherent legality of assault weapons as a derivative of _Heller_, which upheld a prohibitive tax on certain weapons “not suitable for militia use”. Don’t underestimate the potential damage by a case strangely convenient in content and timing during the “rule” of a President seemingly having strange persuasion on the Court.

We need to take our COUNTRY back from Leftists and their Ruling Class Oligarchy.
And it is going to require a lot more than votes in an election to do so, because they have made it painfully obvious to those with eyes to see and ears to hear: we can no longer peaceably co-exist with the Left in this country.
Because they are not going to ever stop until you and I are punished, eliminated and gone.
