Dirty Donald Deeds Done Dirt Cheap? (Maybe, with the way he can leverage money)
Do you agree immigration is a huge issue in Texas- maybe the first issue?
At least Donald puts the verve into some conservative desiderata.
The basis of this all is love. Do you love your country. Donald displays this AND inspires this, despite all his faults. Without the tangible show of love, yes sadly all that is left is a perception that one is an ideologue.
If you don't look beyond the surface, yes. And I'm in general agreement with that qualification.
However, it counts for something that Cruz has spent every moment of his "career in government" trying to roll-back government power and influence -- at the FTC, as Solicitor General for Texas and as a Senator.
And he's been quite successful in this regard -- which also counts or something.
Note that neither Trump, nor Carson, nor Fiorina can make this claim.
Accordingly, it's one thing to be seeking somebody who is not sullied by government employment. It's another to respect somebody for actually having pursued the objective of limiting government -- with some notable success.
Property taxes and failing public schools are the issue in Texas. But illegal immigration is an issue too. Why do you ask?
Right now America wants to see someone who cares.
They’re pretty jaded on the idea that any Washingtonian cares.
Trump might be a big put-on for all we can verify. But we can’t prove that either.
This might not be fair to Cruz’s talent or skill. Granted. But the position in which God puts a person also plays a factor in that person’s success or lack thereof. We humans are not circumstance-free plug-and-play modules.
Immigration has remained the top issue between Dewhurst and Cruz in the state’s Republican Senate runoff.

Do you disagree that it was the top issue in Cruz’s senate race against Dewhurst?
We are, however, creatures of free will. In many respects, we make our own circumstances. Or, if you prefer, luck.
At present, I suspect there is some kind of arrangement -- even an alliance -- between Trump and Cruz. Nonetheless, they are competing feverishly.
I see Trump being very active publicly -- rallies, pressers, media interviews, quotable outbursts. in one respect, he's highly visible because the press loves to cover him.
Meanwhile, Cruz is raising funds at a miraculous pace and painstakingly building a remarkably extensive organization on the ground. By and large, he's working in the shadows because the media doesn't want to have anything to do with him -- they lose every confrontation.
I wonder...what steps has Trump taken to GOTV...???
We cannot rise above the parameters of divine provision, even though we are in a land that likes to prize mobility over all.
Trump is a tycoon who has made out like a bandit mostly by virtue of his business acumen. He took millions and made it into billions.
People respect that; it is like the parable of the talents.
No, the top issue was Dewhurst claim that Cruz was corrupt and lobbying for the Chinese. When Sarah Palin came to Texas to campaign for Cruz it was lights out for Dewhurst. Up until then Cruz was losing. At least that is how it played in the greater Houston area. Dan Patrick, who I like, played the Chinese thing almost everyday trying to get Dewhurst elected and out of Dan career path. lol
Trump GOTV? Here’s one thing at least

He’s going toe to toe with Democrats on their own turf. That it moxie.
Immigration and border security made up the top issues facing the state for 28 percent of the respondents, followed by the economy and unemployment/jobs, which combined for 22 percent. Two issues education and political corruption/leadership each got 8 percent, while other topics languished.
“I continue to be amazed at the extent to which Texans hold border security and immigration above jobs and the economy,” said Daron Shaw, co-director of the poll and a government professor at UT-Austin\

Disagree with the poll data?
No, I am just giving you my perspective. And there are numerous examples of people campaigning on an issue only to flip flop once they get to DC. Rubio being a prime example.
Ok. So you agree that immigration and border security were the number one issues in the Texas Senate Race in 2012, and Cruz won?
I'd probably vote for Cruz if he is the nominee, but he has no chance of winning in the general unless Hillary is the Rat nominee. Anyone can beat Hillary.
Lets hold our hands over our ears and pretend there is no Trump, is the thing this boils down to.
George Will is clearly and deeply in need of some very strong medication.
Trump speaks him mind plainly so I find him much more trust worthy.

Well, first, I don’t find Trump as trustworthy as Cruz. But, I don’t go on Trump threads and bash him. I support my guy, I don’t go putting down Trump to advance Cruz.
So, you’re perfectly clear on trump’s position that he will deport illegals, and have an expedited process to bring back the good ones. That’s ok, with you? Just asking?
Yes, I’m a fan.
I just discovered that he has recently picked up a guitar and taught himself how to play.
He is now “Cousin Joe Twoshacks”

IMHO, I think he is brilliant.
You’re correct, octex. There were 13,646,226 registered voters in Texas in 2012, which was a record for Texas. I don’t know if I stated that this was for the primary. In the actual election, Cruz got 4,440,137 against the democrat. That’s 56.5 percent of the vote. 6,011,162 stayed home.
