Shocking: New U.S. Army Patch Closely Resembles ISIS Logo

A new combat patch worn by U.S. soldiers fighting against ISIS in Iraq is drawing flak from service members because it closely resembles logos of the very same jihadists they’re fighting.

Soldiers serving in Operation Inherent Resolve have worn the patch since April of this year. There is even a medal version that soldiers can wear on their Army Service Uniform, Military.com reports.

On its Facebook-page, Army Times explains that the patch is “meant to symbolize the twin goals of the U.S.-led coalition: to defeat the militant group and to restore stability in the region, according to Army documents.” However, many soldiers with experience fighting radical Islamists say the patch closely resembles the patches and logos of their enemies. As Army veteran Michael Daunais explains:

Will these be issued to Iraqi troops so they can desert again and leave these patches for ISIS?

David Clay, a former Army chief warrant officer, adds:

You can keep that ISIS patch featuring swords that chop off our heads.

Here are some other reactions that show that soldiers (and supporters of the military) are shocked beyond belief by this rather unAmerican patch:

To compare, here are some logos of terrorist organizations...

I believe that's the US Army patch on the left. Some Army brass would have had to sign off on it. Would like to know who it was.

I think also the stars should be red in keeping with Obama’s “New Model Army”.

Is there any doubt now that enemy sympathizers have seized our government?

I MUCH prefer the look and design of the traditional patches over the new goathumper versions...

To be fair, this is an operational patch. It is only for certain units.

However, it is a ridiculous and offensive patch.

Actually, it might get changed if Muslims get offended. But if US troops are offended - well...we will probably keep it.

Not to mention the “UN” style wreath around the border.
This is NOT acceptable!

The patch is specifically for those in Operation Inherent Resolve and only for the Army units and not other branches of the military operating in the campaign.

The only Inherent Resolve Obama has is to destroy America.

Just noticed that..it is almost a carbon copy. Slight differences but this has to be intentional.

And since the patches are similar, in the heat of battle who can be expected to tell the difference?

A convenient excuse for Americans to be killed by ‘friendly fire’.

Cynical, but then again look at who makes the decisions.

OK so the plant branches seem to represent the UN. The three stars for the three branches of Islam and the two swords represent barbarism.

I am trying to find the official insignia for Army troops for Operation Enduring Freedom and came up with this while searching

It does have crossed swords but notice the handles. This was approved in 1989

If you wear the same patch then you're fighting on the same team under the same CIC, right?..../s

Certainly the artistic/literary convention has been straight swords for Europeans & Westerners, curved swords for Mohammedans.

Let’s face it. The traitors in charge identify more with the Saracens than the Crusaders.
