GOP 2016 POWER INDEX: JEB JOLTED FROM TOP SPOT
Theres been a seismic shakeup this week, knocking Jeb Bush from the top spot for the first time since the race began and putting Sen. Ted Cruz at the top.
The latest WSJ/NBC News poll has Donald Trump and Ben Carson tied for the lead with Sen. Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina tied for third place. But few would imagine that those rankings will be predictive. Bush and Cruz in are farther behind, but the Fox News First Power Index is about more than just the latest polls. Its about who has the best path to their partys nomination.
What put Bush at the top of the list from the start was that his superior organization, enormous cash reserves and united support from the GOP establishment would allow him to do what the last two GOP nominees did and outlast and outspend insurgent rivals in the springtime.
But now its clear that Bush has some serious problems and seriously doesnt seem to know how to fix them...

Go Cruz
hes getting stuff done that “some others” havent even thought about doing
TRULY FORWARD!!!
Go, Cruz, GO!!
Correct me if I am wrong, but Cruz is a Senator, not a congressman ( US representative). Are you saying Cruz runs the US house of Representatives?
They met in Sen. Cruzs office and the next day Speaker Boehner announced his resignation.
this freeper’s message reports precisely what Ted Cruz Did

Rush Limbaugh today—
“The point is, Ted Cruz was aware of all of this, and he decided there was no way since he’s so vastly outnumbered in the Senate that what he instead did was work with the conservative members in the House to strength them, to focus them. Not that they needed it, but just to form some unity and have a coordinated effort that was aimed at Boehner’s resignation, since Cruz was not gonna be able to engineer a similar thing in the Senate because he was basically a party of one.
So there’s any number of people who you might... If you want to consider this in a doling-out-of-credit sense, Cruz is right there at the top
Hey Vet— Like we needed them to tell us that—— Gonna be some really shocked folks the day after Iowa.
Controlled?
I just explained those votes to you in another thread. Your statements are ignorant.
This is why he voted yes on the Corker bill and it nothing to do with supporting it SINCE HE FOUGHT IT TOOTH AND NAIL:
This bill was a missed opportunity. If Congress had acted to defend our constitutional authority if Congress had adopted the Cruz-Toomey amendment then we would be able to stop a bad Iran deal. Instead, the odds are now overwhelming that under these ground rules President Obama will negotiate, and Congress will acquiesce to, a terrible deal that allows Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and will endanger the lives of millions of Americans and our allies.
I voted no on cloture because we should have insisted on amendments to put real teeth in this bill. Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because it may delay, slightly, President Obamas ability to lift the Iran sanctions and it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal. I will continue to lead the fight to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to protect the national security of America and our allies.
And South Carolina and the SEC.
What’s your problem with TPA?
Cruz always wanted fast track— he got fast track.
If Trump becomes President, and negotiates or renegotiates trade deals, he now has the procedural mechanism to streamline his deal through Congress.
How’s that a bad thing?
The conservative members of congress who were trying to force Boehner to refuse to fund planned parenthood.
You gotta keep up. Have you never heard of the Tortilla Coast?
OK, I give you Cruz can be considered an asset in taking out boehner. But there were other moving parts which were as, if not more, significant then Cruz involved in boehner’s ouster. I fail to see how that explains Crus’s votes on the most significant legislation of this congress. Or are you saying that his votes for TPA and the corker bill are throw a ways. That his votes had noting to do with the gope or big campaign contributors? And that Cruz has proven himself to be impervious to being bought off?
Here is an article talking about Cruz organizing a meeting of conservative congressmen just days before Boehner announced his resignation. http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/09/politics/ted-cruz-government-shutdown-planned-parenthood/
Carly at no3 is a joke.
Wishful thinking at best.
Missed opportunity? Those votes handed obumber and 40 democrats a blank check on TPP and the Iran deal. Let’s just ignore the results, I’m sure Cruz had the best of intentions. I’m also sure Iran will never get a nuke and TPA wont be a complete sell-out of American sovereignty. Like you said, I’m the one who is ignorant after all.
Ya, like TPP won’t be a done deal before the end of next year.
I addressed TPA in Post 31- if you care to reply.
Rush Limbaugh appears to be a huge Trump supporter, but yet, he described Cruz “as a party of one” (quote above post)— that means, he’s his own man. Cruz, out of all them, can’t be bought off.

You support Trump -or some one else- terrific. Good luck to your candidate. No reason for folks to trash Cruz- he’s a rock solid conservative.
Nope, as far as I now Tortilla Coast is a restaurant in DC.
