GOP 2016 POWER INDEX: JEB JOLTED FROM TOP SPOT
Theres been a seismic shakeup this week, knocking Jeb Bush from the top spot for the first time since the race began and putting Sen. Ted Cruz at the top.
The latest WSJ/NBC News poll has Donald Trump and Ben Carson tied for the lead with Sen. Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina tied for third place. But few would imagine that those rankings will be predictive. Bush and Cruz in are farther behind, but the Fox News First Power Index is about more than just the latest polls. Its about who has the best path to their partys nomination.
What put Bush at the top of the list from the start was that his superior organization, enormous cash reserves and united support from the GOP establishment would allow him to do what the last two GOP nominees did and outlast and outspend insurgent rivals in the springtime.
But now its clear that Bush has some serious problems and seriously doesnt seem to know how to fix them...

Question- Why is it that Ted Cruz is consistenly 2-4 in the race, but seems to have a superb ground game. Is there a disconnect? Just curious, because I prefer Cruz at this juncture.
Cruz has high favorability with low unfavorability. Basically it translates to a large reserve of voters who will consider him and haven’t written him off.
I gladly Support Ted Cruz
“with high favorability with low unfavorability.”
I wont vote for the democrat no matter who it is
I would much much prefer to be able to vote for Cruz than any of the others thus far jockeying for position
They sort of explain some of that later into the article.
The ground game comes into play when the actual voting starts and doesn’t really have anything to do with polls.
Rick Santorum won Iowa last time when he was holding steady with an average 4th place in the polls.
Is there a disconnect?
whos getting all the free face time in all the media?
Its isnt Senator Cruz
sine the intial ....Hes a Firebrand ...”assault”...it appears that the media would prefer to completely ignore Ted Cruz.
There you CDS people are...
PING!
“Cruz has proven himself to be vulnerable to, even controllable by, the gope...”
A steaming pile. He has proven to be a reliable conservative voice in a see of RINO’s. A 97%+ conservative voting record
Cruz just took out Speaker Boehner and you can tell how much Boehner hates Sen, Cruz by the comments Boehner has has been making on his way out. And on the Corker bill you have to criticize Mike Lee and Jeff Sessions as well. Cruz isn’t perfect but he is infinitely more conservative than Donald Trump whom I assume you support
Cruz has been working for the last three years to build a coalition of conservative congressmen to oppose Boehner and force him to pursue a more conservative agenda. Cruz was strategizing with the group of conservative congressmen which were trying force Speaker Boehner to defund planned parenthood or lose his speakership. They met in Sen. Cruz’s office and the next day Speaker Boehner announced his resignation. Ever since announcing his resignation Boehner has been taking pot shots at Sen. Cruz, calling him a false profit and an asshole.
should be false prophet not false profit.
Almost daily, Cruz is announcing key team members added across the country. Although he is not polling very high in Iowa, pundits would do well to consider that Iowa is a caucus state, and the largely Christian and conservative caucus goers do go to their county meetings and will be in contact with Cruz’ ground team. Let’s just see how it goes down in the caucus.
I believe Trumps success as a candidate is more responsible then any single event for boehner’s departure.
