Beware when The Washington Post calls someone a moderate. It probably means theyre a liberal ranter. In Sundays newspaper, a book review by Post writer Michael Rosenwald of a book called Arms: The Culture and Credo of the Gun by a Canadian journalist named A. J. Somerset who loathes American gun culture. It's titled "Wisdom of a Gun-Owning Moderate." For example: The color white plays an important role in this history: Somerset writes that race war has long been the drunken uncle of American gun culture. He claims Guns are all about keeping black people down. Somerset owns and shoots guns, which somehow makes him a moderate. Rosenwald reports---

well...no...actually....gun CONTROL was all about LIBERAL RACISM!
It was designed and introduced to disarm Blacks.
I personally don’t give a hoot in Hades what the Canadians think about our “gun culture”.
The NRA was formed in part to allow freed slaves to have guns - to defend themselves from Democrats.
Doesn’t sound like this lib has done his homework.
That's what makes Stockholm Carson's position on semi-automatic weapons especially hilarious. He doesn't think they should be allowed in cities. HAHAHAHAHA.
Again, Liblogic 101. No homework required. Just toss some BS out there and see how much the LPOS/SPOS/UPOS/IPOS will buy into. And, they buy it.
Oh, yeah, that'll work out just fine. Carson's an idiot. Heroin, crack, cocaine, child abuse, murder... These things "aren't allowed" in cities either. Yet they still go on, in fact primarily in cities. Huh, how about that. I wonder what Carson thinks (if he does think) about that - criminals are going to be, well, criminals and break laws. So his idea, like all so-called "gun control" ideas are fundamentally flawed: they only disarm/affect the law-abiding.
Also it would be interesting to hear what he thinks qualifies as a "city" and thus should ban guns? Is it just population residing in the incorporated area? The entire "metropolitan area" (however that's defined)? What happens if a "city" grows or shrinks? Do they confiscate guns? What about issuing firearms to people if an area shrinks?
Hey, why not try that? Instead of banning firearms and trying to confiscate them... How about mandatory firearms ownership and attendance at an annual training class? What do you think would happen to the crime rate if criminals knew *everyone* was armed and trained?
And the subject is guns?
That's all I need to stop reading right there.
Take it from this Canadian: Somerset does not represent Canadian Gun-owners at all. Far From it:

Canadian gun owners will never stop working politically for a Canadian Version of the 2nd amendment.
Trump Just Announced His Gun Plan, And It Includes 3 Huge National Changes
I thought he issued a statement on his site last week. Is this something new? National reciprocity. Wouldn’t that PO California?
NRA with their constant barrage of crisis’s, renewal requests (still have 4 years left on a 5 year promotional membership), pick my favorite gun contest, give more money, and letters from the president, I am now NRA tone deaf. I paid my dues.
“Urinalist?” That is the absolute best term I have ever seen.
KUDOS!
No problem. Although, they wouldn’t qualify to be the little rubberized splash guards in one.
I was at a steel shouting competetitiion yesterday and the black competing did not appear to be oppressed.
