New York City public schools are closed to observe the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Thursday was the first time the schools serving 1.1 million pupils closed for a Muslim holiday. Mayor Bill de Blasio announced this year that the city’s public schools would observe the two Muslim holy days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

NYC schools have closed for Jewish holidays as long as I can remember.....I went to a NYC high school in the 70s...
A quick check reveals that there are nearly two million Jews living in New York out of a population of nearly nine million. That puts them at about 22 % of the total population. Muslims are estimated around a half million.
The Jews get one day and the Muslims get two? Someone isn't doing their math correctly.
Apart from that, I regard Judaism (especially Orthodox) as beneficial/benign, while I regard Islam as detrimental/destructive.

Only if the real estate developers will benefit. That is the REAL reason he's so gung-ho about banning the NYC carriage horses. Their stables occupy some very valuable real estate he's dying to get for his real estate lobbyists. So if there's a goat stable anywhere about, I'm sure he'd be happy to kill a goat for his real estate buddies. On the last Groundhog Day, he dropped the poor groundhog at the zoo and it died the next day. Skunk and imbecile that he is.
