It was obvious that the debate moderators tried to ignore Ted Cruz. When they talked about having 3 senators on the stage, they called on Rand Paul and Marco Rubio and tried to skip Ted Cruz.

The Princeton debate champion largely stayed out of this one.

It wasn't a debate. It was a question and answer session.

I like him - he’s the conservative Freepers should be backing.

He’s superbly qualified to be President.

Cruz can’t do much more until conservatives shake loose of their Trump delirium and come to their senses.

Mark Levin is complaining about it this morning.

The debate could have done with about 3 or 4 less people on the stage.

Cruz was 4th in total time talked....not exactly ignoring. You guys tried to pull that last time but when the total minutes were accumulated, Cruz was in the top half and you guys were like.....oh crap. Sorry. I guess we were complaining for nothing.

It’s obvious the GOPe and media are purposely ignoring Cruz, it is a conscious tactic. They can’t call Cruz an idiot, so they have to ignore him. Here are the speaking times.

Trump: 18:47
Bush: 15:48
Fiorina: 13:30
Carson: 12:56
Christie: 12:36
Rubio: 11:21
Cruz: 10:45
Paul: 10:28
Kasich: 9:44
Huckabee: 9:20
Walker: 8:29

Ted Cruz is only solid conservative running in this circus. But he doesn’t poll well.

I think the primary advantage of him as president is that as a senator he knows who he can trust and count on in the house and senate. I suspect he would be pretty effective at sidestepping Boehner and McConnell if they were still in “leadership” positions.

Agreed, but I think (or maybe hoping) he is being strategic at this point.

Cruz was too polite for a debate where everyone was interrupting, talking over each other and trying out zingers.

That could be good or bad.

The first primary isn’t until Feb 1, 2016. He has plenty of time.

Yes, that’s too bad, he’s my original horse in the race. I still support him and hopefully something will shake loose for him later down the road

I wonder if Cruz is waiting for Trump to make a mistake. Or, if there's something afoot.

Who knows. But the article is right, Cruz appears to be biding his time - and I don't disagree. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

.

Ted Cruz's keeping a bit low at this point .... away from the machine gun fire ... it's a good plan.

Iowa is five months away.

Ted Cruz will win Iowa (or place second) because of a great grassroots plan.

Donald Trump will not.

These “debates” are a joke. What will CNN do with the profits they make on it? They should donate it to disabled veterans.

Cruz didn’t “stay out” he was professional and didn’t want to come across as a whiny bitch. Kind of like Fiorina came across to me. While she did well, there were times where I heard her whining to get to say something. That just doesn’t serve one well when you’re whining to a moderator to get a chance to speak.

I have some concerns with Cruz...he has shown some bad judgement in in the senate (like TPP and the Iran crap deal to make it an upside down treaty vote), but I could vote for him if he’s the nominee (I think).

I don’t like Trump, but I will vote for him just to piss off the crony capitalist and the political class. It will at least be entertaining and at this point instead of being pissed off at politicians I can at least be entertained by them as they rape and plunder our country.

Cruz needs to be on our POTUS Republican ticket without a doubt!

Cruz / Carson
Cruz / Jindal
Cruz / Walker
Trump / Cruz (I don’t think Trump is humble enough to take a VP role ;n)

“It wasn’t a debate. It was a question and answer session. “

And the mods were scared to death to question him because he has answers to the tough questions.
