A gun-toting Brooklyn bandit dodged more than 80 police bullets early Friday in a wild street shootout that began with a botched armed robbery and ended with his arrest, officials said.
Oft-apprehended Jerrol Harris, 27, was busted around 1:10 a.m. when a single bullet — out of 84 fired at him — pierced his calf to end a blocks-long police pursuit through Bushwick, cops said.

The "professionals"
Doubtless these “professionals” are fat, female, minority, etc, low information, all hired in order to fulfill “quotas.” When the ragheads start doing their thing, these keystone cops best learn to do their job.

Er, you can’t “dodge bullets”. Nor do they glance off car windows and fenders like they do it the movies. Life is a movie to liberals.
I bet all the people who woke up that morning to find their cars and houses were shot up would agree.

Overwhelming firepower is the 2nd best way to defeat an ambush. The first is not to get ambushed.
That assumes one in the group can hit the side of a barn.

Only police should have guns. They are the only ones who can be trusted. Plus, they’re trained to a degree that we really can’t be as civilians.
They are clearly our betters.
That is a huge problem with most police departments. They do not budget enough money for firearms training. Marksmanship like any other sport requires a lot of demanding training. Not just in front of a stationary target at 7 meters but a train as you fight scenario. Many average citizens that are gun enthusiasts are much better trained, prepared, and equipped, to prevail in a gunfight without expending 10 magazines of ammo. Just my opinion of course.

I can’t speak for NYPD, but our qualification doesn’t allow for even one off the paper and no more than five outside the eight ring. Everyone passes except for the occasional bobble. Never had to suspend anyone for failure to qualify either.
However, the paper doesn’t start the engagement nor does it shoot back nor do our officers have to duck to find cover while shooting.
That round sizzling by you kind of changes the dynamic from site alignment to point shooting quick, fast, and in a hurry.
Most people's notion of reality is based on 'inferred knowledge' and most of that comes from movies and TV. Neither of which is real.
