Trump: Deport children of immigrants living illegally in US

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wants more than a wall to keep out immigrants living in the country illegally. He also wants to end "birthright citizenship" for their children, he said Sunday. And he would rescind Obama administration executive orders on immigration and toughen deportation, allowing in only "the good ones."

Trump described his expanded vision of how to secure American borders during a wide-ranging interview Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press," saying that he would push to end the constitutionally protected right of any family living illegally inside the U.S. ...

He said last night and in NH on Friday night that families of Illegal Aliens could stay together... he just didn’t say where.

They made a choice and they, the illegal aliens, can live with it and so can their spawn.

Trump will pack the Court with 5 new "Justices" that are John Birch Society members.

The biggest deal here is it puts the rest of the GOP field in heap big trouble.

Most of these sons of bitches were talking “Pathway to Citizenship” a week ago.

Now they have to come out for or against Trumps position.

The 14th does not give illegal aliens any right to citizenship at birth...

Seems pretty straight-forward to me: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush recently released his own immigration plan calling for the use of forward bases and drones to guard the border, but also backing an eventual plan to legalize the status of immigrant families. Bush disagrees with Obama’s use of executive actions to unilaterally enforce the policy.

BS, forward bases and drones. Recall how W wasted a couple of billion on a "virtual wall" that was eventually abandoned as impractical and ineffective. The Bushes will say anything and do anything to avoid building a physical barrier, which is the only thing that would be effective unless they want to post men ever few hundred yards on the border 24/7/365.

One need not have to get an amendment and its subsequent passage by the states. Just enforce the 14th Amendment's original intent: it was passed to give citizenship to the children of slaves brought against their will.

This bs of giving citizenship to babies born by mostly Mexican pregnant women & girls for walking across the road into San Diego, is against the spirit of the 14th Amendment!

Well, I disagree with the judicial interpretation of the 14th Amendment. I agree with the others here that birthright citizenship for illegal aliens and people coming in on tourist visa's and such is not what was intended by the 14th. I think a new court with originalist, conservative justices may overturn the current judicial view of this which opens the door for the Legislative and Executive branch to change the law.

I would rather this issue be hashed out by the Legislative and Executive branches, but the court won't allow that to happen. So it's either a constitutional amendment or new judges. I think the odds of a constitutional amendment are 0 - even after the best of electoral circumstances. Therefore if we want to end birthright citizenship, we need better judges.

Sometimes the court just gets it wrong, and sometimes it is wrong for a very long time. I would also prefer a court that overturns Roe v Wade. That doesn't make me a judicial activist, it makes me someone who wants to correct for past judicial activism. In no way do I believe the 14th amendment was ever meant to grant birthright to hordes of illegal aliens pouring across the border. All the court has to do is find that this wasn't the original intent of the 14th and open the door to the people through the Legislative and Executive branches to put an end to it.

Eminent legal scholars and jurists, including Professor Peter Schuck of Yale Law School and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Richard Posner, have questioned whether the 14th Amendment should be read to mandate such a permissive citizenship policy. Nevertheless, the practice has become the de facto law of the land without any input from Congress or the American public.

Advocates of maintaining this citizenship policy argue that the plain language of the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment protects automatic birthright citizenship for all children born to illegal and temporary aliens. However, several legal scholars and political scientists who have delved into the history of the 14th Amendment have concluded that “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” has no plain meaning and that the executive branch’s current, broad application of the Citizenship Clause may not be warranted.

In the United States, both Democrats and Republicans have introduced legislation aimed at narrowing the application of the Citizenship Clause. In 1993, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) introduced legislation what would limit birthright citizenship to the children of U.S. citizens and legally resident aliens, and similar bills have been introduced by other legislators in every Congress since. The current Congress saw the introduction by Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga.) of the “Birthright Citizenship Act of 2009,” which so far has gathered nearly 100 sponsors.

We need Congress to pass a law and see it is challenged and goes to SCTUS. We may not need a constitutional amendment.

Get these law breakers on the chain gang. Work them to the bone to build the wall. Send the kids to “daycare” where the U.S. National Anthem is playing 8 hours a day, 7 days a week.
