CHICAGO — Chicago Police and SWAT teams have a home surrounded on the city’s West Side.
Police say that at approximately 12:30 this afternoon officers witnessed a man walking into a building on the 1200 block of S. St. Louis Ave. with a gun. They evacuated neighboring buildings and have been on the scene afternoon.
There have been no reports of injuries. It was not immediately clear if there is anyone else in the building.
More details as they become available.

They have all these shootings and killings every weekend, and they bring out an army when someone is merely seen with a gun... how strange is that...

To watch the Police Commissioner apologize for crime here in Chicago is the most surreal experience. I think he honestly believes that guns are living beings able to commit these hanous acts completly of their own volition.
With all this police presence in Chicago, this is sure to put a damper on this evenings shootings and killings.
I see people carrying guns here on occasion, we never call out the swat team

I once looked up the murder stats by district and to my amazement the highest murder rate district sat exactly opposite the Eisenhower from the only zero murder district.
I wonder if McCarthy thinks there are no guns in that district?

I guess the boy wasn’t too impressed with that #blacklivesmatter thing.
We now have CCW in IL (including Chicago oddly enough) but for someone living in those high crime districts to jump through all of hoops and expense, it’s effectively impossible for it to make a significant difference in those areas.
