well if you pit wimps vs. bully, usually the smart money is on the bully

still, the donald could easily be baited by an even worse bully, and that will pop his balloon but quick

"He’s been called a clown, a fraud, a pretender, a joke—implicitly insulting his supporters, which currently happen to be a not insignificant segment of the GOP electorate. A segment that could abandon the Republicans for a third party if Trump is ticked off enough to fund an independent campaign."

And that in bold is precisely the authors purpose for this article. Subliminally coaxing conservatives it's alright to follow the Donald down the path to handing over the entire ball of wax to the Democrats.

We see how dumb the media and the GrOPE are in trying to defeat Trump. He’s close as any candidate has ever been to having pierce proof armor as someone can be, and he’s gotten smarter at the political game. Trump is not going anywhere soon so get use to it.

That would be a sad possibility... a happier one might be that a charmed but now disaffected conservative body politic might notice that Cruz actually means most of what Trump was shouting about.

Agree. Cruz actually has a consistent philosophy and believes what he’s saying.

Trump isn’t likely to win. But how likely was Obama’s win? Zero experience irrelevant ultra-liberal first term liberal Senator who never faced any real political opposition defeated the Clinton machine.

After the Republican establishment ran ads in Mississippi saying the Tea Party would take away black voting rights and other insane claims, conservatives realized (or should have) that the established power class in Washington (the Uni Party) needs to be destroyed.

I don’t like Trump, but he’s better than Bush Round 3.

One thing that greatly concerns me about Trump is the support of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Especially the Wallbanger. He is a weasel and uniparty cheerleader: he doesn’t sneeze unless the uniparty has first authorized him to do so. He has done a complete 180 in less than a week and is now singing Trump’s praises. Why?

Just a small correction:

John McCain, a war hero, who is a rude little wart according to those who know him, and who almost never takes a principled stand on anything worthwhile.

Don’t you get it??? WE DON’T CARE!!! DC is a sewer and Trump, as an outsider, is the best chance of cleaning it out. If that doesn’t happen, we’re goin’ down as a nation, so it might as well be with a dem at the helm.

Agree, but the conservative body politic is enamored by the Donald’s flute. Hope he runs out of wind, but that’s like hoping it will rain tomorrow in So. California.

“He’s been called a clown, a fraud, a pretender, a joke—implicitly insulting his supporters, ...”

There was nothing ‘implicit’ about McCain’t calling Trump’s AZ supporters “crazies.” That is pretty explicit.

Trump isn’t likely to win

What are you basing that on? RCP poll averages:
Trump is at 18.2 Nationally
Bush is at 13.7
Walker is at 11.7
Rubio is at 6.7
Hucakabee & Carson are at 6.0 each
Cruz is at 5.7
New poll in New Hampshire Trump leads nearest rival Bush, 24:12
In Iowa Walker & Trump are only 2 points apart (statistical tie)

So what are you seeing which makes you proclaim Trump can't Win?

All the professional pundits have been
pathetically wrong about Trump.
First they said he was not serious.
Then they said he will never file financial disclosure.
Then they said Trump was finished after McCain comment.
Then they said He raped his wife.
Every one of above prognostications about Trump's demise
has been miserably wrong.

So can you explain why your opinion holds better value
than the professional pundits?
