WASHINGTON -- In a stunning attack on a leader of his own party, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of lying to him and said he couldn't be trusted. Cruz, a Texan who is running for president but ranks low in early polling, delivered the broadside in a speech on the Senate floor, an extraordinary departure from the norms of Senate behavior that demand courtesy and respect. At issue are assurances Cruz claimed McConnell, R-Ky., had given that there was no deal to allow a vote to renew the federal Export-Import Bank - a little-known federal agency that has become a rallying cry for conservatives. Cruz rose to deliver his remarks moments after McConnell had lined up a vote on the Export-Import Bank for coming days.

McTurtle, Boner, and the rest of the GOP-e “leadership” lie all the time—To both their constituents and their conferences.

Glad to see Cruz is taking a page from Trump’s playbook and is calling Yertle out.

McConnell is not a war-time Senate President.

From what i understand, there is an unwritten rule.

No matter WHAT you say in public, to the cameras, Senators are NEVER supposed to lie to each other.

This is a compromise between politics and the business of running the country. You NEED accurate information, no matter what is said publicly.

There was another Senator who was raked over the coals about a decade ago- back when the truth still mattered a little.

DITCH MITCH. CALL A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE FOR LYING

Ok Ted, the fact that politicians lie is no news to most people. We are not in a courtroom, a gotcha on this means Jack, if you want to be effective you need to take that big brain of yours and figure out a way to thwart McConnell and keep him from being able to deliver on something he should not be able to deliver, but has arrogantly promised to do anyway.

Suppose he becomes POTUS? How is he going to handle McConnell?

I’m not saying I disagree with calling a spade a spade, but seems like it will bring some issues that I imagine Cruz has weighed.

Pearl-clutching in DC. Someone call the waaahmbulance

Outside the Beltway, The Turtle has been known as a scumbag LIAR forever, along with the entire dirty, disgusting lot of Corruptocrats.

Mitch the *itch should thank his lucky stars it’s just a teeny verbal tweak, and not an angry crowd with pitchforks.

First of all, it is early. I'll bet his numbers would soar after the first debate.

Secondly, who knows who these pollsters poll and where? Do they ask Democrats in New York City? Of course, liberals in major metropolitan areas support a liberal (Democrat or Republican). If these pollsters would talk to people in more conservative regions of the country, they would get far different answers. But then that would destroy the outcome the media has so carefully crafted.

I think a President Cruz would be lobbying for new Senate leadership. At the rate McConnell is going, the Republicans are going to lose their majority anyway.

It’s not the polls you GOTTA wonder about.

Its the whores at Ass. Press who would insert such a meaningless comment as this in their story.

Presstitutes. ALWAYS with their liberal agenda.
