Why Selling Baby Parts Should Shock No One

...if we come to see ourselves as meat, then meat we shall become." -- Leon Kass, M.D., "Toward a More Natural Science"

What is most shocking about an undercover video of a conversation between Deborah Nucatola, a Planned Parenthood executive, and two antiabortion activists from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) posing as employees from a biotech firm is why anyone is shocked.

For those who haven't been paying attention (ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN all ignored the story during their Sunday morning political talk shows, but not Fox), the discussion centered on the sale of donated tissue from aborted fetuses. Nucatola says in the video, "We've been very good at getting heart, lung, liver ... so I'm not gonna crush that part, I'm gonna basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact."

Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, attempted to gain some moral high ground by explaining that in the sale of fetal tissue, "there is no financial benefit ... for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood." Instead, she says, "...actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed..."

On Tuesday CMP released a second undercover video showing Dr. Mary Gatter, president of Planned Parenthood's Medical Director's Council, "negotiating" a price for fetal body parts, an illegal act.

The response to the Nucatola video was immediate. Republican presidential candidates denounced the practice of "fetal organ harvesting" and GOP leaders in Congress have again threatened to "defund" Planned Parenthood. They won't, because they haven't before.

Since Roe vs. Wade, there have been more than 55 million (and counting) legal abortions performed in the U.S. There are a number of sociological, moral and political reasons why abortions continue, but the occasional outcry when something like the Planned Parenthood videos surface will not save the lives of unborn children. Because abortions are performed behind closed doors, is it simply a case of out of sight, out of mind?

Occasionally, though, something so horrible escapes the secret chamber that people are repulsed -- for a moment at least -- by what we have allowed to happen and the collective effect it has had on the growing disregard for human life some of us possess.

Kermit Gosnell comes to mind. The Philadelphia abortionist was convicted of murder for snipping the spines of three babies during abortions. We were aghast for a while. If our revulsion had been sustained it might have shocked our conscience into action, but we were too focused on pleasure and comfort and the pursuit of affluence and the moment passed. Pennsylvania subsequently passed a law that regulates abortion clinics as ambulatory surgical centers, subject to the same health and safety mandates, but the abortions continue.

The reason no one should be shocked by any of this is because it is the inevitable outcome when moral boundaries are removed. If we are living in an impersonal universe; if we are evolutionary accidents not endowed with certain rights by our Creator; if we are of no greater moral value than a hamburger; and if human value is to be assigned by the courts, then we are all potentially at risk of extermination should we become inconvenient or too expensive to sustain.

But once whatever remaining boundaries are erased, and the cost of medical care rises, government and insurance companies could very well increase the rationing of medical care (as happens now with unequal Medicare payments to medical groups vs. patients with private insurance and limits on what private insurance will cover). It will likely begin at the extremes, as most inhumanities do, but once the killing standard is expanded to the elderly and the sick, it will quickly threaten others.

How do you like what we have become, America? Maybe our loss of morality, not to mention our humanity, is one reason for the rise of ISIS. As we are reminded, "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint." (Proverbs 29:18)

It’s the death of outrage. There is outrage in this country over the wrong things. A circus clown. A flag. A few are outraged over the horrible things that are being done, but our voices don’t count, and we are frustrated. Our elected officials, from both parties, don’t really care.

And so we post at Free Republic, speaking out against atrocities, because we can’t keep silent. But nothing changes.

just wait. the horrors are just beginning. soon, they will be farming babies for body parts. invitro fertilized, genetically altered, and implanted in “mothers” specifically recruited for the task. and then murdered for parts.

this is the brave new world.

What is shocking to me is that no revelation concerning abortion is sufficient to make the left even rethink, reconsider, what's going on.

Even if the harvesting of fetal organs was a vast underground enterprise reaping millions for the killers (and I believe that it is) would the left finally say "enough!"?

No, they would.

The left is all-in on the lie now and turning back is not an option.

The "kind-hearted" Clintons assured us that
abortion would be "safe, legal and rare."

============================================

The Clintons "forgot" to mention opening
the gates to the trafficking in baby body parts.

(EXCERPT--WND.COM). Then-Pres Clinton is credited w/ opening up the market in fetal body parts. Since Clinton signed the National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act of 1993, “fetal-tissue research” has expanded into a federally subsidized multi-million dollar industry of selling human spare parts salvaged from abortions.

For example, the NIH budgeted $21 million in fiscal year 1999 for grants and awards for fetal tissue research. At the University of Washington, the NIH subsidizes the central laboratory for human embryology.

According to a lab notice obtained by WorldNetDaily, it “can supply tissue from normal or abnormal embryos and fetuses of desired gestational ages between 40 days to term. Specimens are obtained within minutes of passage, and tissues are aseptically identified, staged, and immediately processed according to the requirements of individual investigators.” The notice is signed by Alan G. Fantel of the department of pediatrics.

At the time, two organizations that profited from this growth industry were (the now defunct) Opening Lines, a business formerly located in West Frankfort, Illinois...... and Anatomic Gift Foundation, headquartered in Laurel, Maryland.

Opening Lines gives credit to President Clinton for opening up the lucrative business in fetal tissue trade.

According to Opening Lines, on January 22, 1993, Clinton lifted the moratorium on federal funding. “This action created a great demand for fetal tissue and has made possible the development of treatments for individuals afflicted with serious diseases and disorders,” says the sales brochure.

Both companies served as wholesalers for the marketing of baby body parts to researchers, drug companies, hospitals and universities. These groups harvest the parts from abortion clinics and ship them to their customers.

Opening Lines provides fetal tissue researchers with a “fee for service schedule,” which gives prices for each body part. For example, Opening Lines charged:

<><> $150 for a spinal column;

<><> $400 for an intact embryonic cadaver;

<><>$75 for 8-week-old baby's eyeballs (40% discount for a single eye);

<><>$150 for two arms or legs; and,

<><> $100 for the skin of a 12-week-old baby.

(Mmmmmm.... looks like they "forgot" to post the price of baby skin lampshades.)

=====================================================

Now, more then ever---it is imperative that we determine whether the companies trafficing in baby body parts, their principles, subsidiaries, tangenital companies, and so on......contributed to:

<><> the Clinton Foundation

<><> and/or The Clinton Foundation's multiple offshoots.

<><> Hillary Clinton's present campaign

<><> Hillary Clinton's previous campaigns

<><> Bill Clinton's campaigns.

AND whether the billionaire Clintons have a financial interest in companies selling baby body parts.

There is a very expensive cosmetic cream sold by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons. Someone told me that it is made of foreskin. I didn’t believe it but I am beginning to think it’s probably true. I cannot recall the name of it but its three letters like TPS?

In other words, the 1940’s experiments of Dr Mengele and other “NAZI” doctor/scientists will be coming to fuition now in the U.S.A.
The unthinkable experiments on living “patients” were committed and performed in the name of “knowledge and medical advancement to aid the masses.”
One so-called defensive statement by those “doctors” was that there is the NAZI is all of us. Thus they claimed that what they did could occur anywhere in the world.
God help us if they were right.

The Catholic Church is strangely silent about the selling of aborted babies. One would think that they would be leading the outrage, but other than a few weak statements nothing. If ever there was a time for public excommunication of abortion supporting “Catholic” politicians like Nancy Pelosi now would be the time. Mass pray ins in the halls of Congress might also be in order. The Pope seems too busy promoting Maxism and worship at the cult of global warming

Once you have decided that killing is OK, what's the problem? It's dead and nothing can be done about it, so why not profit?

This is the way these “people” think.

I read something yesterday about “liberals, living a life of contradictions” or something like that. What shocks me is, say, feminists who support abortion for any reason suddenly getting upset with sex selection abortion.

What the hey did they think was going to happen? And what's shocking is that they so readily abandon their “principles” when it's their ox (or is that “cow”?) that is gored.

“Once you have decided that killing is OK, what’s the problem? It’s dead and nothing can be done about it, so why not profit?”

Euthanasia of the elderly is coming. In some enlightened European countries (Holland and Switzerland) it is legal. Zeke Emmanuel, one of Obamacare’s architects within the past year gave his rationale for ending human life at age 75. Physician aided death is legal in Washington, Oregon, and Vermont. Who can forget the Terry Schiavo case in Florida a few years ago. Not to mention Sarah Palin being ridiculed for warning of the death panels in Obamacare.

Where’s the profit in killing old people?
1) End to social security payments.
2) End to payment for medical services under Medicare and Medicaid.
3) Inheritance taxes put money in government coffers.
4) The elderly tend to be politically conservative and reliable voters. Removing them from elections helps progressive candidates.

Once Hillary is elected, expect to see progressives make a strong push for laws allowing voluntary euthanasia across the nation. How long will it then take before the Zeke Emmanuals have their way and compulsory “dignified death” at a certain age becomes the law of the land?

Once one accepts abortion, there is no particular reason to oppose selling the “byproducts”.

Can’t find a thing to disagree with you about.

However, you can be sure that the elites will not go at 75. The world needs their knowledge and wisdom and compassion, don’t you know. So there will be special exceptions for the elite. All for the greater good.

Makes me glad I believe in a burning Hell.

And if PP is not making money on dead baby body parts then why was that woman talking about buying a Lamborghini?

You cant buy a Lamborghini with reimbursed costs.

I heard Nancy Pelosi canNOT receive Holy Communion.

My priest, more than ten years ago, put up a sign in the Church telling about the price of baby parts, during a 4-hour prayer service against abortion.
