Pat Buchanan warns of another Civil War: The time of mass right-wing civil disobedience is at hand
Salon ^ | July 10, 2015 | Scott Eric Kaufman, assistant editor

Posted on 07/12/2015 9:31:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

"A secession of the heart has already taken place," he said using rhetoric that is in no way inflammatory.

In his latest column at WorldNetDaily, paleoconservative commentator Pat Buchanan argued that given the Supreme Court’s ruling that legalized same-sex marriage and the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s decision to remove the Ten Commandments monument from the state capitol grounds, a “rebellion” unlike any seen since the Civil Rights Movement “is likely to arise from the right.”

Buchanan situated this “coming era of civil disobedience” in a long tradition that began with the Founding Fathers. “What else was our revolution but a rebellion to overthrow the centuries-old rule and law of king and parliament, and establish our own?” he asked.

“U.S. Supreme Court decisions have been defied and those who defied them lionized by modernity,” he added without noting that the positions his civilly disobedient activists would support wouldn’t be “lionized by modernity,” given that they’re based on the teachings of a man who — if he ever even lived — has been dead for 2,000 years.

Buchanan connected the coming struggle with the Civil Rights Movement — in particular, with Martin Luther King, Jr., whose “Letter from Birmingham Jail” he quoted. “One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws,” King wrote, to which Buchanan replied, “what is an ‘unjust law’?”

Apparently, they are the ones that atheistic liberals have yet to write, but most certainly will in the coming years. “Laws will be passed to outlaw such practices [like refusing to perform a same-sex wedding] as discrimination,” Buchanan wrote, “and those laws, which the Christians believe violate eternal law and natural law, will, as Dr. King instructed, be disobeyed.”

For all his high talk about morality — especially as it pertains to racial injustice — Buchanan was a little tone-deaf as to a certain issue of current import: the causes of the Civil War. “That war was fought,” he wrote, “over whether 11 Southern states had the same right to break free of Mr. Lincoln’s Union as the 13 colonies did to break free of George III’s England.”

He concluded by saying that a similar separation is on the horizon. “If a family disagreed as broadly as we Americans do on issues so fundamental as right and wrong, good and evil, the family would fall apart,” he explained, “the couple would divorce, and the children would go their separate ways.”

“Something like that is happening in the country. A secession of the heart has already taken place in America, and a secession, not of states, but of people from one another, caused by divisions on social, moral, cultural and political views and values, is taking place.”

Personally, I am using language and having thoughts I wouldn’t have imagined 10 years ago. I am there—disillusioned, disgusted, and enraged.

Guy just can't grasp that truth is everlasting, and lies die a thousand deaths.

Another point, is that Jesus Christ didn't talk about homosexuality to my knowledge. The teachings on that matter were a matter of record a thousand years by the time Christ was on this earth.

If someone can correct me on that point, I'd like to see it. It would be educational for me.

” The Nazis...............had done their work well. The years of tyranny had robbed people of the will or capacity for independent thought. The Germans, a highly intelligent and educated people, lived under Hitler in an intellectual fog. The propagandists had beaten into their heads one point of view. The suppression of free expression, the crushing of dissent left no place for alternative ideas to circulate. People went about perpetually puzzled, uncertain what to believe, distrusting their own judgement.” Piercing the Reich by Joseph E. Persico , pg. 86

I see the same thing happening in America today. We are ignorant if we do not think history doesn’t repeat itself. There is a Great UNREST and I am afraid it will soon erupt. Our culture is practically destroyed and still the uncomprehending dream on.

Something like that is happening in the country. A secession of the heart has already taken place in America, and a secession, not of states, but of people from one another, caused by divisions on social, moral, cultural and political views and values, is taking place.

And this fellow traveler of our nation's destroyers, couldn't be more pleased.

If only it was the sign of the right prepping to rebel. I’m not holding my breath in anticipation. That becomes like waiting for Haleys Comet.

Not going to happen.

Conservatives are lazy. They haven’t even risen up against the schools and media teaching them that there is no morality and that sinning is fun and those who say otherwise are haters.

11 year olds being handed condoms and being implanted with IUD’s against parents wishes doesn’t bring a revolt. nothing will.

Jesus mentioned that if Sodom would have had the same amount of light as Capernahum, it would have repented of its sin, like Nineveh. - Matthew 11

Matthew 3:24
A House Divided
…23And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24”If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25”If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.…
Cross References
Matthew 12:25
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

(Keeping in mind the writer of this MSM article here isn’t at all sure the Speaker ever lived. De rigueur.)

I am waiting for a candidate who will say, “People used to say ‘gay marriage will never be legal’. People used to say ‘the government would never use the IRS to persecute opponents of the other party’. People used to say ‘government wouldn’t spy on honest, law-abiding citizens’. People used to say ‘America would never go for socialized medicine’.

But it’s all happened under our very noses because we believed it wouldn’t happen here. It couldn’t happen here. But it HAS happened here. With this administration. With this party.

The time has come for patriots to either take the country back or file for divorce.

Unfortunately that’s a big part of the problem,. Kids have little or no respect for parents any more thanks to liberals telling them they can do as they please and can lie to their parents. I raised my children to respect their elders and they still do.

This is why I have no use for salon:

” “U.S. Supreme Court decisions have been defied and those who defied them lionized by modernity,” he added without noting that the positions his civilly disobedient activists would support wouldn’t be “lionized by modernity,” given that they’re based on the teachings of a man who —if he ever even lived —has been dead for 2,000 years. “

Salon just —couldn’t— resist getting in a shot at the Savior, eh?

Denied His teachings, denied that He even lived, and denied that He rose again.

That is why the Left will fail... they insult the Most High at their peril.

Psalm 2

1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6 “Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall break[a] them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son,[b] lest [c] He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

I should have made it clear that I think the author of this article addressing Buchanan’s comments is the fellow traveler of those who wish to destroy our nation.

His name was Scott Eric Kaufman, assistant editor.

I do not think along those lines with regard to Pat, and it was unclear in my post. In fact I’d say I accidentally laid a foundation there for folks to think I was referring to pat, by posting his quote.

I apologize for that false impression. I disagree with Pat at times. This certainly isn’t one of those times, and I’m sorry it looked like that.

I don’t like them framing this as civil disobedience on the part of Christians. It’s a huge mistake.

It is those in power who are being civilly disobedient to the laws of nature and nature’s God, the basis of our form of government, and the Constitution, not us.

And everyone should know it.
