The head of the Republican National Committee, responding to demands from increasingly worried party leaders, spent nearly an hour Wednesday on the phone with Donald Trump, urging the presidential candidate to tone down his inflammatory comments about immigration that have infuriated a key election constituency.

Sadly, the GOPe doesn’t realize what a ridiculous statement that is.

When you say GOPers do you mean conservatives? Do you me GOP RINO politicians?

To me a GOPe RINO politician may secretly believe as conservatives do, but what sets them apart is that they’ll fold like a cheap tent when the first blow from the MSM asks for their views about immigration. Frankly, their ideals are for sale to the path that offers the least resistance in their personal DC lives and the path that gets them re-elected. Their like a dog.....thinkin’ bout BACON.....all BACON, all the time.

Other than for Kelly and Hannity, I do not bother much with FoxNews.

Agree. I’m voting for Cruz, but if he is out its Trump.

If both are out, so am I.

I’ll never support a candidate who cares more about illegals than citizens. Unfortunately that is the rest of them.

“No, the GOP “leaders” fear the popularity of Trump’s message will anger their corporate establishment masters and influence them to withhold their largess.”

Winner.

Unforgivable.

I think Trump now should do a paradigm shift. “Before we discuss illegal immigration and the status for all illegal aliens living in the US, three things must happen. 1) Our southern border is 100% sealed where no one can cross it successfully, 2)all illegal immigrants in US prisons are repatriated to their countries of origin and 3)Sanctuary cities are dismantled.”

If Trump backtracked and said only this, he will be a hero and the one to say what everyone is thinking. And no one, minus conservatives who wouldn’t accept this because of no “get to the back of the line” verbiage, could argue against this position.

My prediction is, whoever says this is going to be the Republican nominee and presents a clear contrast to the Democrat.

Apparently Trump hasn’t realized yet that the goal of the GOP is not to win but just obtain a seat at the Democrat ruled table.

Thanks..... but, personally for me, I don’t use GOP and conservative interchangeably any more. The GOPe and RINOs lie to what we once most all were on our side (Republicans).

I’m not Republican any more. I am a conservative. The elites and RINOs have stolen that party I once stood for.

i agree- when the GOPe sends me emails or calls me for $$$ i flat out tell them “i’m not a Republican- i’m a Tea Party conservative- take my name off your list”...

still- there are some Republicans who are not full blown conservatives that understand Trump is correct...

I sense both the GOPe folks and the Dems are fighting to seek a hiding place UNDERNEATH that same table when Mr. Trump walks in.

Big sign of weakness from the GOP. If it intends to reject Trump’s message, then it should do so directly. Stupid, weak, wants to be the loser, party.

I can understand the sentiment - to a point. I look at it this way. Would a Christian be a real Christian if he/she believed in God, but like most dutiful idolaters of times gone by condone and continue to attend sacrificial rituals offing a Virgin to Ba'al or similar?

What I mean by this is that condoning, acknowledgement or participation in some of these RINO duplicities is as bad as the sin (to me) itself. At some point your convictions have to come out and make a stand. In my mind, you are either full-blown on our conservative side, or you are an enemy.

As my pappy used to tell me in my younger years, "Sh!t or get off the pot."

"Damage the Party Image...?"

BWAAHAHAHAAA! That's rich!!

How can you damage the image of a bunch of weasely, pandering snivelers without a backbone? It is almost impossible.

The Democrats already have the market cornered on envy, adultery, theft, false witness, and murder so going there isn't going to make it any worse.

“If they didn’t tell Romney to throw the last two debates, I’d be very surprised.”

Could not agree more - remember it well. Romney had Obama by the balls after the first debate...then, very strangely, let him off. Something did happen, clearly.
