Spike It! When the Media Kill a Story for Political Reasons

(Snip)

The Wall Street Journal just revealed the news about the Oversight Committee getting these emails in a major story. The key points are that Gruber was deeply involved in crafting the health care law, he worked very closely with the White House, and, when he became a political liability, the president and his senior aides simply lied about it.

Is that a big story? Not if you are a national TV network or major U.S. newspaper. Except for the Wall Street Journal, they maintained radio silence. Not a peep.

A search of the New York Times shows zero hits for “Gruber” this week. All the News That’s Fit to Print? The Washington Post has one hit, a brief comment by an online opinion columnist. Regional newspapers like the Chicago Tribune: zero. It was covered on Fox’s morning show and, in a very revealing exchange, on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. The network shows – Good Morning America, the Today Show, and CBS This Morning – have eight hours of air time but did not mention it at all. Zilch. They could have squeezed it in without shortchanging the Kardashians or Brian Williams’ landing on the moon.

Still, the latest Gruber episode tells us something troubling and important. If the media share the White House’s political views, then journalists and editors will refuse to do their essential job: truthful reporting. They will spike the story. On the same spike, they impale what is left of their reputations.

Yet another example of medi bias, simply by choosing which stories to highlight and which to ignore. This is why so many of our liberal friends remain liberal. I wish that MRC, or some other group, would compile a quarterly list of significant recent news events that were not covered by the liberal news. This would be helpful when seeing relatives at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or during summer vacation. I want to expose then to what they are NOT hearing.

Spike It! When the Media Kill a Story for Political Reasons

The Liberal Democrats who run the media are a bigger national threat than is ISIS, or for that matter, Nuclear Iran.

They caused the other two problems with their lies, their omissions and their biased reporting.

Great article. The media no longer even tries to maintain the fiction that they aren’t on the Democrats side anymore. They laugh about their own role in the corruption of journalism.

Yet, every Lib I know insists that the alphabets, the major newspapers, etc, are all RIGHT WING. If they ever accidentally print a story that tells the truth about Dems, they must be RIGHT WING. Obama promulgates the lie that FoxNews lies all the time and the Libs parrot that meme. When I say, ‘if they lie, why doesn't anyone sue them for libel or slander?’. No answer.

The media is completely and totally biased. They deliberately and intentionally suppress information, change facts, and obsessively promote certain other information.

They are fully aware of what they are doing.

The solution to media corruption is for the Republicans to pass an “oligopoly busting” law. Since about a dozen corporations control almost all media, the law would recreate the old FCC rules about ownership and cross-ownership.

Of course. This is what happens when there is an incestuous relationship between the White House and executives of the MSM.

Oh I don't know. I've been in and around the newspaper biz since 1970, and I can't recall any such coverups.... except for that little scandal back in 2007.

Just wait until you see who Hillary runs as her vice-pres. Hint: not Joe Biden.
