Is it news when a radio talk-show host who is a former Republican state senator and gubernatorial candidate accuses the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee of mortgage fraud? WELI, New Haven's No. 1 AM-radio station, has come under fire for refusing to broadcast an interview between its now-former talk-show host, Tom Scott, and Democrat Christopher Dodd. In the interview taped Oct. 29, Mr. Scott accused Sen. Dodd of mortgage fraud for taking two cut-rate mortgages from predatory lender Countrywide Financial in 2003 under a program reserved for members of Congress and other big shots. Media reports say the interview...

Barack Obama’s transition team has tapped former FCC Commissioner Henry Rivera, a longtime proponent of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine," to head the team looking for the man or woman who will soon give Democrats a 3-to-2 advantage on the Federal Communications Commission. It’s another troubling sign that Democrats are serious about trying to reinstate the long-defunct FCC regulation, which can more aptly be described as the "Censorship Doctrine" because of its chilling effect on free speech. In effect from 1949 to 1987, the Fairness Doctrine was an obstacle to open discussion of public policy issues on the radio; its...

Gateway Pundit says he contacted the LA Times to ask about a video showing Barack Obama at a party for radical Islamist Rashid Khalidi, mentioned by the LA Times in this article: Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama. At Khalidi’s going-away party in 2003, the scholar lavished praise on Obama, telling the mostly Palestinian American crowd that the state senator deserved their help in winning a U.S. Senate seat. “You will not have a better senator under any circumstances,” Khalidi said. The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times. LA...

The mainstream media are willfully ignoring many questionable ties and friendships of Barack Obama. The list does not end with the radical racist preacher Jeremiah Wright and unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayers. They have totally ignored Obama campaigning for the socialist revolutionary Raila Odinga in Kenya. They have also ignored his ties with radical Islamic extremist Khalid Al Masour.LA Times takes things to the next level. They are going beyond the level of ignoring to the level of willfully witholding informative evidence from the public. The associate of Barack Obama in question this time is Rashid Khalidi, a former PLO...

The National Enquirer a couple of nights back caught former-Senator John Edwards, who is reportedly on Barack Obama's short list as a vice-presidential candidate, entering the Beverly Hilton Hotel room of a woman that isn't his wife. His wife, suffering from cancer, was presumably back at home in North Carolina. The Enquirer story has the definite sound of legitimacy... So what does the L.A. Times do, they put out an email to their bloggers telling them not to discuss the story...

A Washington County woman is accused of locking her 10-year-old grandson in a feces-filled dog crate for about 90 minutes. Police said 51-year-old Rhonda Lehman, of Washington, put the boy in the crate Saturday because the boy laced the family's drinks with lamp oil and household cleaner called "Bam." Lehman has custody of the boy, who told police he did it because "he was angry because he didn't get to go on a trip" last year, said Washington police Officer James Markley. It is possible the boy had been spiking the drinks for a while, authorities said. Family members became...

There's a report today that the New York Times has a story coming up that details extensive involvement between Senator McCain and a telco lobbyist that may have resulted in the telco retro-active immunity provision of the new FISA amendment. ... Additionally, according to Drudges account, "Rutenburg had hoped to break the story before the Christmas holiday, sources reveal, but editor Keller expressed serious reservations about journalism ethics and issuing a damaging story...

THE Second Amendment provides a good test of the American politician. If a candidate is not going to trust the people with guns, why should we trust said candidate with the government? The equivalent test for journalists will be taken next month as the press marks the 10th anniversary of the breaking of the Monica Lewinsky story. How a newspaper or columnist describes this event tells a lot about how that newspaper or columnist views the audience. I am not talking about whether it is described as presidential perjury or a sex scandal. That is a right-left spin thing that...

Drudge had a headline last week that the Times of London was running a story about Huma Abedin, Hillary's lesbian lover. As if having a muslim lesbian girlfriend wasn't explosive enough, there were rumors on the internet that Abedin was an agent of Saudi intelligence. The Clintons sold us out to the Chinese, so why not the Saudis too? Who killed this story in the US? I expect the liberal media to cover up for Her Thighness, but what happened to our guys? Hannity always shoots his mouth off about being the "Stop Hillary Express"; why isn't he on this?...

The powerful sway that Bill and Hillary Clinton hold over the American media has been illustrated by their successful attempt to "kill" a negative magazine story about Mrs Clinton's presidential campaign. Hillary Clinton 'could cost Democrats dear' Full coverage: US Elections 2008 According to the Politico newspaper, GQ magazine was planning to publish an article by writer Josh Green, who had previously angered the Clinton campaign by writing that the New York senator "offers no big ideas, no crusading causes" and had "plenty to talk about, but she doesn't have much to say". The planned article included details of in-fighting...

Clinton campaign kills negative story By: Ben Smith Sep 24, 2007 03:43 PM EST Clintons’ press aides have leverage like Hollywood publicists — less Mitt Romney and more Tom Cruise. Early this summer, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign for president learned that the men’s magazine GQ was working on a story the campaign was sure to hate: an account of infighting in Hillaryland. So Clinton’s aides pulled a page from the book of Hollywood publicists and offered GQ a stark choice: Kill the piece, or lose access to planned celebrity coverboy Bill Clinton. Despite internal protests, GQ editor Jim Nelson...

Despite internal protests, GQ editor Jim Nelson met the Clinton campaign’s demands, which had been delivered by Bill Clinton’s spokesman, Jay Carson, several sources familiar with the conversations said. GQ writer George Saunders traveled with Clinton to...
