NKP is out there too I think
most people here will.. most will
That’s what Rush thinks too....
...but first they have to knock down all the Conferderate statues and plow over the graves in the Confederate cemeteries....
......( as a Tennessee native I can say these things ;(
I will tell you this......Tennesseans will not go down easy with anyone touching their flag OR statues or graveyards
This is Not a non-issue. If the radicals can hype emotion to get rid of the Confederate flag, then couldn’t the same crowd hype it that right wing nuts should stop waving the USA flag. If they can do this to the Confederate flag in 2 weeks...what about those who like to see the USA flag burning? This is a very slippery slope. Getting on this band wagon is putting a gun to your traditions, hunch easily could be their next target. Minorities of radicals are taking control ...and the sheeple going along with them are the problem.
Excellent idea. Kick Arizona out too just for good measure!
Just post that pic of Bill Ayers standing on Old Glory...
Too much to ask to focus on issues that matter, I suppose.
There isn't going to be a fight.
I’m a Yankee, I always wore the blue hat when I was a kid, and we played Civil War games. At the annual York Fair, there were vendors peddling Civil War hats, and we chose based on our sympathies, and as we are close to the Mason Dixon Line, there were a surprising number of kids choosing the gray hats, and we are about 25 miles from Gettysburg, where one of the two most decisive battles which were simultaneously won by the Federals, was fought, the other being Vicksburg.
So, to my fellow conservatives south of the MD line, regarding the most recent unpleasantness, you lost, get over it. The flag represents a defeated army. If you want to fly a flag of defiance fly the “don’t tread on me” flag. It represents the victory of freedom in a war that we won.
I have seen a number of people flying the flag in question, thinking it was the flag of the Confederacy, thinking they were being defiant, and some of them (too many of them) thinking it represented white power. I think I know some thoughtful, intelligent, people flying that flag, but most are exactly the knuckleheads or bigots (not mutually exclusive) that they are reputed to be, at least north of the MD line.
(putting on my flameproof suit. Flames from the South forthcoming.)
Sounds like a good plan to me.
If you had grown up in my part of Virginia, you may have heard the truth of things.
You would have learned how the damnyankee army “taxed” the local population 1/3 of their cattle, hogs, horses and mules.
How the same bluebellies took all the preserved meat and any vegetables not yet eaten.
You would have learned how a community lived off the corn stored in one barn.
The yankee soldiers didn’t take that corn because it hadn’t been shucked yet.
Too easy to steal another man’s labor.
You would have heard how hard it was to put in a crop when your best work animals had been stolen from you.
The reason you yankees find it so odd that southerners don’t “just get over it” is because the war was a far away thing for your ancestors.
Our ancestors saw it fought in our fields and pastures.
If your ancestors had been in the position mine were, you would have a different outlook.
Or perhaps not.
You yanks seem to care for little more than the here and now.
Am I the only one that sees this as a hoax/ political diversion?
Our great toffee colored leader has already got the US to the day when soon the Stars & Stripes will be replaced with the solid, pure white flag of surrender!
Isn’t that what he promised. Isn’t that what he is doing when he’s bowing?
Sounds a lot like the MLB voting for the All Star Game.
The new USA!
Did I hear “repatriation “ for all DAMN YANKEES squatting in Floriduh and other of the genteel states?
War is Hell. If kick the tiger in the butt, be prepared to deal with his teeth.
And the town I live in was pillaged by General Early in the campaign that ended in Marse Robert’s defeat at Gettysburg.
One word.. Reconstruction.
The most abominable thing ever done by Americans to Americans.
It kept the south poor for generations.
Well, slavery is up there as an abominable thing.
Disgraceful.
And that supposedly informed Amerikans fall for it each time is even more so.
My great great grandfather was wounded at the First Battle of Manassas (Bull Run to you Yankees). He died three years after the battle from his wounds. I am proud of my southern heritage and to hell with all the PC zombies attempting to make everyone conform. They will only make more rebels.
