The real goal of the America-hating leftists is Old Glory.
Then the monuments to those mean old Southerners Washington and Jefferson will coming tumbling down. It’s gonna happen just as sure as the sun coming up. These republican governors jumping on the Hillary Clinton election campaign have all but assured she will be the next president. The GOP might as well go ahead and disband.
Rush tries to have it both ways. Today he’s into his “you know, it’s the Democrats who were those horrible Confederates” routine.
As in “Fritz Hollings is the one who put that flag up on the South Carolina statehouse!”
Yeah Rush- it was the Civil War Centennial. You might have heard about it if you were paying attention when you were 10.
Thanks for telling us what we are permitted to do. That’s an old northern tradition, now perfected by their descendants in that quintessential yankee state, Massachusetts.
“Well, slavery is up there as an abominable thing.”
And so do you condemn Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and the other slaveowning Founders and Presidents? Or is this just more of the usual moral preening that condemns the Confederate South but conveniently exempts the Founders it wants to keep?
At least Lefties on your side in this crusade are consistent, they want to go after the rest of American history next. And with the help they’re getting in their cultural cleansing the follow on campaign will start real soon.
The Crown granted two emancipation declarations during the Revolutionary War. Should we assume you that you side with King George against the rebels who were seeking to separate themselves from his Union? Or was slavery not abominable yet?
Slavery, the fall back position for every northern apologist.
Whenever reconstruction is brought up, it’s slavery, slavery, slavery.
The northern states never intended to treat the south as wayward brethren, but as a hated enemy finally subdued.
Well, you confederate apologists condemn reconstruction as an abominable thing, as if the confederacy didn’t do anything abominable.
It seems that everything Bill Ayers wanted, Obama gives him.
It’s like a slow dripping faucet.
What we need is a “Bad Ass Plumber”!
Trouble today is we have no Sherman, Pershing or Pattons, around.
To paraphrase Kipling : North is North, South is South and ne’er the twain shall meet.
My favorite bumper sticker : Beautify the South, buy a yankee a bus ticket north.
May God bless you and yours.
I have no problem with the flag, but it should not fly over any official government property. It belongs in a museum or displayed on private property. I could care less about any candidate’s opinion and it would not sway my vote at all.
Do Y’all have buses down south?
You can do us a favor. The only people up north here who fly that flag are white supremacists and other miscellaneous knuckleheads that the conservative movement does not need. Buy them bus tickets south.
Can you look at anyone you see and judge what is in their hearts? There are a lot of displaced southerners all across America. When the state of California banned the sale of confederate flags at all government locations my brother put the confederate flag up on his 30 foot flag pole for everyone to see out of protest. Don't tell me what I can and can't do!
We grew up in California where surfers used to dress up like Nazi's and put swastikas on everything just to get a rise out of people and be nonconformist. No they were not Nazi's or anti-Semites, they just liked to poke fun at grown ups and get people worked up. Most of the people I know that have confederate stickers or other flag symbols are proudly independent patriots or have family from the south or lived there part of their lives. There was a time if you had the American flag on your clothes or wore it somewhere you were considered radical or a hippie. Slavery was an evil but the war of northern aggression was not fought to free the slaves. Yet today Amazon bans the confederate flag while you can still purchase Nazi flags and symbols. What a world.
I’ve seen bikers with nazi symbols and the flag in question. If I didn’t have thick enough skin, I’d be offended, but I’m not inclined to have much to do with them. I lost too many relatives that I will never be able to meet to people wearing those nazi symbols, and I have relatives with numbers tattooed on their arms by those bastards.
You’re partly right. Many in the north were not fighting to free the slaves, but many were. many in the south were not fighting to preserve slavery, but many were.
What’s wrong.
Don’t appreciate a joke?
Don’t take things personally.
May God bless you and yours.
oldvirginian out.
Sounds fine to me. Although I would prefer not to lug along all the damn Muslims we have around here.
My father grew up in Alabama and dug musket balls out of trees on battle fields and my great grandfather would find civil war cannon balls while plowing his fields. The confederate flag has a greater meaning to a lot of Americans than what some make it out to be. It is not a symbol owned by bigots or racists any more than any other symbol stolen from others for their own twisted purpose. There are many who have honor for and respect the most recognizable symbol of the south.
What do you think about the American Flag. Did you know that was the flag that flew over slaves ships and that was the flag that flew over slave states for almost 100 years? Should the American flag be rat-holed away in a museum?
The American flag is the national flag. The Confederate flag was defeated in the Civil War. I don’t believe it’s evil, but it does not represent anything. It’s an historical artifact best suited for a museum or private property. I think it’s silly to not sell it.
What’s the joke? I don’t really care what scrap of cloth one flies, save one, old glory, but what am I supposed to believe about an American who displays a nazi symbol, or a Northerner who displays confederate symbols?
If they expect me to have good thoughts about them, they’re mistaken. More likely they expect me to be grossed out, and what am I to think about that particular intention? There’s a body part down low and behind that describes people like that.
