Muslims booted for praying atop Empire State Building get payout

A Muslim family from Long Island who were booted from the Empire State Building’s observation deck because they were praying has settled their lawsuit for an undisclosed sum, the Post has learned.

Fahad and Amina Tirmizi had said in their federal lawsuit that they and their two young children had begun silently reciting their evening prayers in a quiet spot on the 86th-floor deck at about 11 p.m. July 2, 2013, when two security guards roughly intervened.

The Farmingville couple was seeking $5 million in damages in the suit, filed last year in Manhattan federal court.

Although Amina briefly prayed with no hassle, a guard confronted Fahad and “menacingly poked” him as he told him he was not allowed to pray on the deck, the suit said.

So I guess these muzzies were trying to turn the Empire State Building into a minaret?

Probably the Muslim Martyr version of a GLTD.

Did they bring their prayer rugs? Whenever there was a protest at the Israeli Embassy on 2nd Ave. (in a nondescript little building), the muzzies would take up the street to say their prayers. Needless to say, I was furious and disgusted.

If you know your religion requires you to pray at certain times then why do you not plan your activities around it? Especially 11 PM. It’s like “Darn, it’s 11. Forgot about the prayers. Oh well, over there will do.”

Only a matter of time before another terror attack hits that city. Liberals are working overtime to make it happen, and no doubt they’ll blame some Republican when it does.

I think the guards were wrong. The ruling is right. If I chose to say a Christian prayer or bow my head to say grace, I would not expect to be accosted for doing so.

Freedom of religion means just that. If we prevent a muslim from praying, we are one short step from being permitted to pray ourselves.

preaching insurrection and jihad, and demanding sharia law - those are different issues altogether.

“The Empire State Building has an unlawful [policy] that subjects Muslims to greater and/or heightened suspicion, security and/or surveillance compared to other religious and nonreligious individuals,” their suit said.

Gee, I wonder why...

That being said, I do wonder if a small group of Christians took a moment to pray would they be hassled like this family claims...

Of course Christians don't say their prayers before detonating their suicide vests, either...

I say suck up muzzies until you start to reign in your radicals and I don't have to wonder if a guy saying a muslim prayers next to me isn't going to turn me and everyone else around them into a pink mist..

Well...I beat that one!

I prayed Christian prayers in the doorway of the Dome of the Rock.

Silently, of course.

islam is not a religion. It is a terrorist organization intent on destroying the west.

What the guards should have done was pitched the whole family of terrorists over the side.

(actually that wouldn’t work either as there may be some innocents injured below by the falling garbage)

Maybe they were honoring the spot where a muzzleman went all jihadi and shot several people back in 1997.

Freedom of religion means just that.

Islam really isn't a religion. It is a government.

I agree....I strongly disagree with Islam but I don’t see the need for the reaction of the guards!!!

Well, yes. And don’t we all object to it? Aren’t we outraged when we read about such things?

For me but not for thee????

Don’t be obtuse. Your blather gives conservatism a bad name. You are spouting complete ignorance.

Islam is indeed a religion. Did you even bother to read what I wrote? The types of activities that are a completely different story?

Protecting a muslim family’s right to pray, and aggressively prosecuting islamic terrorist are not mutually exclusive.

islamic terrorism cannot be separated from islam. Jihad, the war against anything non-moslem, is the central focus of islam. islam is a political system that enslaves its adherents and kills everyone else. It is incompatible with our Constitution. In fact, the federal government has a Constitutional duty to eradicate islam from the USA as islam is not a republican form of government

islam is a “religion” only in a very tangential sense. It uses religion as a cover for its evil political and military activities.

You are the one with stupid ideas. I stand by what I observe, not what people tell me.
