It may have removed it but you can bet those traitorous basturds are still doing it.The government spent $1.5 billion on this complex out in the middle of Utah specifically for the storage of metadata. Are they going to turn it into a skating rink?

Well, if you truly believe that, logically, you must also believe that if they did away with the Patriot Act, they'd still be doing that as well, right?

"You know that is not true. The USA Freedom Act removed the ability of the NSA to gather Phone and Email records without a warrant. " You are slightly uninformed or delusional... This bill was a joke at restoring Constitutional Rights. Please read: ....................... as the USA PATRIOT Act by Simon Black on June 3, 2015 US-Freedom-act-spying June 3, 2015 Buenos Aires, Argentina My general rule of thumb when it comes to legislation is that the more high-sounding the name, the more insidious the law. Exhibit A: the just-passed USA FREEDOM Act. Freedom. It sounds great. So great, in fact, that they stuck it in the title and built an absurd acronym around it the real name of the law is Uniting and Strengthening America by Fulfilling Rights and Ensuring Effective Discipline Over Monitoring Act of 2015″. U-S-A-F-R-E-E-D-O-M. Hooray! And without fail, the media has bought in to the myth, praising the government for heralding in a new era of liberty with headlines like Congress Reins In NSAs Spying Powers and NSA phone program doomed as Senate passes USA Freedom Act. Unfortunately this is simply not the case. And shame on the mainstream media for making such thinly-researched, fallacious assertions. If anyone had actually taken the time to read the legislation, theyd see that most of the concessions made by the government are entirely hollow. Secret FISA courts still exist. Lone wolf surveillance authority and roving wiretaps still exist. They can still grab oodles of other data like medical and business records. And the US Attorney General has even been awarded new emergency powers to use in his/her sole discretion
just in case the secret courts might be uncooperative. The big victory being cheered by the media pertains to the collection of phone records. This one is actually hilarious. The USA FREEDOM Act prevents the government from seizing and storing call detail records, the so-called meta-data information like your phone number, the other callers phone number, the length of the call, etc. But section 107(k)(3)(B) of the new law specifically states that call detail records do NOT include the *actual content* of the call itself. Or your name. Address. Financial data. Cell-site location. Etc. So basically they cant archive your phone number. But everything else is fair game. Congratulations on your freedom." ....................... http://www.sovereignman.com/trends/its-official-the-usa-freedom-act-is-just-a-destructive-as-the-usa-patriot-act-17105/

The USA Freedom Act removed the ability of the NSA to gather Phone and Email records without a warrant. But it also placed the burden of storing the phone and email 'metadata' squarely on the phone companies, which then have to produce it to Big Brother on demand.
So nothing really changed except procedure and the storage location.

Mr. Walker, a potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said on Fox and Friends that he thinks we would be much better off with a full reauthorization. The world would be better off without Sharia Law and Islam, but no candidate would say that.

Note to Walker: The Rick Perry 2012 self-immolation tour is not the campaign style you really want to adopt.

They’re all bought and paid for. Every. Single. One. Their motivations are a lust for power and wealth. The Constitution, our culture, the middle class all mean nothing to them. All that matters is that in the end, they’re the one who gets to hold the whip.

So Walker can’t seem to find the correct side of the Patriot Act argument, Cruz has a thing for more alien workers, Paul is his father’s son, Rubio is all-in on Amnesty, Jeb is also and he hates me and my children....this is getting depressing and it’s only June 2015.

“How do you explain Cruz supporting Obama on the secret trade deal?”
*****
Fast track authority is not approval of the deal sight unseen. It permits the President to negotiate the deal and then bring it to the Senate for an up or down vote without having it substantially altered by amendments.
From what we’ve heard so far, the final deal presented to the Senate will likely be hated by both the left and the right and will have an uphill battle getting a majority. More likely to be successfully filibustered.
If Cruz votes in favor of the final deal to make it law of the land, then you’ll be thoroughly justified in branding him a sell-out. We’ll see.

Agree with the first five. On the first two (Walker, Cruz), as there are only 2-3 issues that we have to corral them in on, we have our best chance with them. With Cruz, we can discuss the philosophical underpinnings (H1B, trade issues), with Walker we can appeal as members of his supporting constituencies (he got better on Common Core when Wisconsin talk radio turned up the heat a year or so ago).

Damnit.
Every time I think I find a decent POTUS candidate they go and espouse a position that is a deal breaker for me.
And I'll never again vote for a "lesser of two evils".
