Scott Walker: ‘I hope in the future we’ll re-establish the Patriot Act’
Washington Times ^ | June 3, 2015 | David Sherfinski

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Wednesday called for a full reauthorization of the Patriot Act, a day after the U.S. Senate voted to rewrite the post-9/11 law and overhaul the NSA’s bulk data collection program.

Mr. Walker, a potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said on “Fox and Friends” that he thinks “we would be much better off” with a full reauthorization.

Way to get on the wrong side of that issue, Scott.

He's played a couple of these tangential issues wrong. The intelligence world is just not in his skill set yet. I guess I wish he would say nothing rather than brand himself on these kinda issues.

Rand Paul is looking better every day.

Not if you are a conservative or a Christian he isn't:

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt's Generals: 'How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?'
Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt's military -- even as Cairo's security forces massacre anti-government activists. [by "anti-government activists" is meant church-burning Christian-murdering jihadists]

Yes, it's the wrong side, and it's disheartening to see him taking the 'safe' side.

But, the reality is a strong majority of self-identified Republican voters support the Patriot Act. It's sad, because I thought Republicans were, in general, better informed about the abuses committed in the name of "safety" by governments in the past.

Rand Paul is the ONLY one stirring things up. Walker supporting the Patriot Act is too much. Cruz supporting Obama on the secret trade pact is too much.

We need someone who understands what's bothering ordinary US citizens who are fed up. I'm disappointed with both Walker and Cruz lately; I thought they "got it". It's more about Rand Paul stirring things up than all of those things we don't agree with.

The Country would be better off if MEN stood on their hind legs and took control of this Country again.
We’ve been silent too long and the Country is literally going to hell.

Sorry, but you can distort the issues all you like, Senator Ted Cruz is still the preferable candidate from a conservative perspective.

I'm not interested in someone like Rand Paul who has already proven he is way to weak on conservative principles and will not stand for me. I know Senator Ted Cruz will stand, and stand firm on his conservative principles.

Now, if you a Libertarian, I can understand your liking Rand Paul, but I am not.

Scott, you've made my choice for me today. Thank you.

GO CRUZ

Cruz isn't any better on the issue.

The "Freedom Act" is just the Patriot Act spelled differently.

B.S.!

You know that is not true.

The USA Freedom Act removed the ability of the NSA to gather Phone and Email records without a warrant.

Sigh. Why is it that one of the few people on the right side of this is Rand, who seems to be on the wrong side of most other conservative issues?

Yeah, but I don’t want a candidate who just acts like he supports something because it’s popular. I’d rather have a candidate who isn’t afraid to tell his constituents when they are wrong, and hopefully explain it to them and convince them to change their minds.

How quickly we jettison our manufactured via machine candidate offerings.

Can any single person alive survive the gauntlet?

Who in their right mind would want to even try?

If you have no other machine to do battle with,

That ya battle with the one who bring ya to the dance..

We’re a year out from finality and Lordy knows what else..

Terrorists walk our streets openly..(and IM not talking about police)

Toss Walker over this?

Fine , go ahead. Let Ted carry the weight, as long as he can

Just don’t gut the corps.. Yet

No matter how much so many here seem ready to do.

I don’t know, but we could probably propose a corollary to Murphy’s Law: that there will always be one major, timely issue that Republicans all get on the wrong side of in each election, except for one candidate, who will get on the wrong side of every other issue.

Not any longer. Republicans are all for big government programs and have the foolish hope that the dems will let them run a few of them.

Cruz voted FOR the bill—just like Walker would have. So did Mike Lee BTW. Oh well, as Ronald Reagan said, better someone who agrees with me 90% of the time than 10%. I am for Cruz all the way but (so far) I will accept and donate to Walker if he wins the nomination.

From the NY Post:
“The final vote divided Senate Republicans, with 23 voting “yes” and 30 voting “no,” and senators seeking re-election in 2016 split on the issue.

Among GOP presidential candidates, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas was the only “yes” vote, while Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida joined Paul in opposing the bill. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who announced for president Monday, was absent. “

How do you explain Cruz supporting Obama on the secret trade deal? It was a chance to hand Obama a defeat.

And supporting MORE H1B Visas? What's that all about?

I donated to Cruz as soon as he announced his candidacy. His 21 hour filibuster was magnificent. But I'm beginning to wonder if anyone in DC keeps sight of what matters to US citizens.

Yeah, questioning policies in the middle east that have caused the genocide of Christians makes you not a Christian. Strange logic you got there.

If you think that Rand Paul, with his Libertarian principles, is going to fight against Gay Marriage, and fight hard against Abortion, you have not been paying attention.
