Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin wants to make sure everyone knows he loves Florida.
He began his remarks at the Economic Growth Summit on Tuesday by ticking off city after city that he has visited, saying that he has an aunt who lives in Bonita Springs, a lot of friends in the Villages, and that he first visited Disney World in 1971.
Well be back many more times, Mr. Walker promised as he concluded his remarks. We love the connection to Florida.
His outpouring of adoration for the Sunshine State may have been in response to the medias portrayal of his recent remarks that he may let former Gov. Jeb Bush and Senator Marco Rubio battle it out in this key primary state. Some interpreted the remarks as Mr. Walker suggesting that he would not fight for Florida.
Let me be clear: The media suggested I would do that, Mr. Walker said when asked about it by reporters after his remarks. Instead, he explained that he thought he could win anywhere in the country.
The only pause I gave was in deference to two favorite sons here in Florida, he said. And I thought that Governor Bush and Senator Rubio certainly would have a competitive advantage over anybody because of their presence as favorite sons in this state and having won statewide elections.

Walker vows to compete in Florida. Says Media misrepresented his previous remarks.
FReep mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Walker or Cruz or Rand for me. Nobody claiming to be from Florida has any votes here.

Yeah, it’s Huffpo. but it’s the only thing going right now.
IMO, Florida goes to Bush, after the split decision Bush win in South Carolina.
If Straw Polls meant a damn thing, Ron Paul would be President right now.
I like your first two.
They are in order

What I’m waiting for is Walker’s explanation. While he is attending an Economic Growth Summit, Wisconsin is Dead Last in job creation in the Midwest, and lagging most of the nation.
Nineteen Million Taxpayer Dollars was paid to Walker’s campaign supporters through the WEDC agency he Chaired until he was removed from that position by the state legislature this week.
Walker vowed to create 250,000 jobs, but only about 7,000 can be accounted for.
A nonpartisan state investigation is now requesting a federal investigation of apparent “Pay to Play” activities by the WEDC. Several of Walker’s campaign staff are already in prison.
Aye!
God bless and keep you.
Good and he is more than welcome here.
I see Dem talking points there.... Is that ozone that I am smelling right now?
Tee-Hee. ;)
Are you in that happy crowd?
Oooo , this sounds serious.
yep ... all the way in the very back ... “old school” suit and tie ...
you can’t compare our two Ted Cruz straw poll victories in Florida to the “loons” of Ran and Ron Paul ...
