Fox News host Greg Gutfeld had some startling comments for supporters of traditional marriage during a panel appearance on The Five.
Arguing that conservatives need to use homosexual marriage against the left, Gutfeld said: Gay marriage, in my opinion, is a conservative idea. The left generally hates traditions. Its all about breaking with traditions, and in this case its embracing a tradition, one that stabilizes a community, one that is valuable for families. Why would you exclude that from a group of people who are born that way?
Gutfeld expanded his critique to the traditional religious teaching of marriage as a union of one man and one woman.
If they are born that way, the idea that you are saying that you cannot be part of this, thats an exclusive belief! As somebody who is not religious, who has been but not [now], I was under the impression that faith should be inclusive.
Juan Williams congratulated Gutfeld on his comments, but claimed conservatives historically used opposition to homosexual marriage as a wedge issue. Panelist Eric Bolling responded that the reason traditional marriage became so important to the American right is because the first few caucuses [and] elections are so important, and theyre so heavily Christian, theyre so heavily evangelical.
Bolling said expressing a belief akin to Gutfelds would likely result in a candidate losing the Christian, evangelical vote, thus dismissing adherence to traditional marriage as merely a political necessity. Paul Kengor, a professor and author of Takedown: From Communists to Progressives, How the Left Has Sabotaged Family and Marriage, strongly disagrees with Gutfelds comments...

These new guard conservatives are witty, clever, sarcastic, even audacious, and certainly appeal to the young sound byte and video clip generation. However they are devoid of fact, logic, and truth and have willingly sold those dusty old relics of a former age down the river in order to be culturally relevant.

Research, fact, biology, and logic are irrelevant when it comes to homosexuality. The more facts presented (e.g. no research has ever supported the biologically unnatural act of homosexuality), the more they are dismissed as hateful, prejudiced, and homophobic. Greg reminds me of the new hip evangelical pastors who jettison Biblical teaching to push the new church growth social gospel which always brings more numbers, but never sinners to repentance...
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares , who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance , though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like * manner, giving themselves over to fornication , and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
FUGG!!
I don't actually think he believes that gay marriage is conservative.
Fox News host Greg Gutfeld just spoke his “I Quit” words.
A few minutes later he came up with what he believes should be Rick Santorum’s campaign song:
“America working man families. No gays.”
Social conservatives are an extremely rare breed on FNC.
Politics rests upon a moral and spiritual foundation. Lose at that level and your electioneering becomes irrelevant, hopeless, pointless.
Win at the moral and spiritual level and the politics will take care of themselves.
I'm not saying to abandon the political fight but rather that we must see it as a part of the deeper fight, an overflow from the deeper fight. Guys like Gutfield have cut themselves off from the root that feeds liberty and do not know it.
I was under the impression that faith should be inclusive.
No. There is a real God that is the object of our faith. The point of it is to know that real God, not to include or exclude anyone. Learn to walk with the real Creator God and let the chips fall.

OK
“devoid of fact, logic, and truth”
Gutfeld is often devoid of these tenets of journalism. I must watch them every day as my high schoolers insist. Well, they want me there. They don’t like it when I disagree with Gutfeld, as I must at times, based only on his on factual vacuosity.
He argues like a sophomoric child, grabbing Dana to gang up with him. It’s beneath her. But then again, I guess not.
He mocks, becomes petulant and gets emotional. Exactly like a liberal - the liberals I’ve had to argue with.
Case in point - he has a hate fight with Bolling over the NSA tapping our phones without probable cause, a clear and certain violation of the fourth amendment.
If Bolling would show up, he’d ask, to Gutfeld’s rhetoric “how are we going to get probable cause? You [twit]”, “How many terrorists and their plots have been thwarted with the tapping innocent civilians’ phones”?
But he doesn’t. Gutfeld is fully allowed his temper tantrum.
His three am show was great. He has zero instinct for his audience. He refused to stop with the pornography and vile references.
Way back when, the left had a point about marriage, because much marriage had become corrupted with the dowry, arranged marriages, and other problems. From their point of view at the time, marriage was not about biology, but was just an evil social contrivance.
What they did not see was that uncorrupted marriage is essential to the human species, and that it is far superior to what even monogamous animals do, for insuring high quality, prosperous offspring.
But ever since then, the left has attacked marriage, seeking to distort, undermine, nationalize, or do whatever it takes to destroy it.
Today, black Americans are reaping what the left has sown, and it is tearing them apart as a people, even offering to eventually destroy them.
Sick of these liberaltarians telling us conservatives what is conservative.
The middle is lost to fear.
Objective morality has succumbed to the peer pressure and monetary desires of certain selves.
The “invisible hand” extended without opposition.
Excerpt:
In an interview with WND, Kengor stated: With all respect to Greg Gutfeld, who I appreciate and usually agree with, gay marriage is absolutely not a conservative idea.
Not unless, as liberals do with marriage, you redefine conservatism. I understand Gregs point, and Ive heard the argument hes making before, but gay marriage cannot possibly be construed as conservative.
Kengor believes homosexual marriage fails the most essential definition of conservatism resistance to radical change.
Nations are like people...they are born, have youth, adulthood, old age, if you live long enough - dementia, followed by death. We are clearly in the dementia stage, both economically and culturally...death will inevitably follow at some point, sooner rather than later, I think. What happens after death is where things get interesting.
People forgot about the treasure of heaven.
How so? Everybody on his show and most of his audience probably agree with him.
Gutshot has always been an idiot, play thing.
That’s a twisted piece of logic if I’ve ever seen one...
People forgot about the treasure of heaven.
Forgot?
They can’t forget something they never knew.
They can and have denied their nature in order to rationalize their beliefs. Collect and consolidate the masses of superficial “thinkers” to justify and promote themselves.
Pride comes before the Fall.
