We need to take deadly force off table (barf alert)
Milwaukee J-S ^ | 16 may 2015 | Emily Mills

I didn't envy Ismael Ozanne in the least when he took the podium for his news conference this last Tuesday. The Dane County district attorney looked visibly nervous, dabbing sweat from his face several times over the course of the long, detailed speech that led to his eventual rationale for and decision not to press criminal charges against Madison police officer Matt Kenny in the shooting death of biracial teenager Tony Robinson.

Ozanne is himself biracial, his mother a black woman who was involved in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee during the Freedom Summer of 1964. Ozanne become the first black district attorney in the state when he was elected in 2010. Ozanne's progressive, liberal bona fides would be hard to attack.

Like all good criminal justice officials, Ozanne had to make his final decision based on facts, though he acknowledged that such a decision would be made through his own personal lens, one that has involved racial bias and bigotry aimed his way. Seemingly, then, being thrust onto the national stage amid a wave of high profile officer-involved shootings of unarmed black men and boys would present a serious personal conundrum and plenty of community pressure. Still, the district attorney examined the facts and weighed them against current policy and law, and found that the use of deadly forced was justified.

You know I was at a gun show this last weekend surrounded by probably hundreds of thousands of guns and gray haired terrorists. I don’t recall one gun misbehaving and jumping off the table and attacking anyone.not one.

Ozanne is himself biracial

This sounds like the writer is from 1970's South Africa. Next Emily Mills will tell us Ozanne's mom is a Bantu.

Coloured classification

She (? Did you see its photo?) is playing armchair cop. If she actually had to police she’d want to have the ability to defend. But, she knows best in her little fantasy utopia.

Don’t go half racist, Mrs Mills. Go full racist and state we need laws blocking people from putting any injury on a person of African descent.

If you’re going to change hundreds of years of legal precedent, don’t hack at it while playing coy. Be bold and honest, dammit!

Mzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Mills would have a sudden change of heart if she had time to think about it while being brutally raped with a knife to her throat.

Biracial? I thought we were all from one matriarch, in Africa? So, why is that a difference?

Thanks for the Barf alert.

Consider the source employed by the Leftists MJS.

The Lesbo from the 'People's Republic of Madison' is not actually concerned about use of force.

Emily Mills goal as a Lesbian is to require mandatory hiring of Lesbians in all law enforcement.

This line in her rant says it all:

"We also need to find ways to create and support a more diverse pool of qualified applicants to police forces — more people of color, women, LGBTQ people. "

--yes--that is even more than the usual in responses to the J-S typical anti-firearms rot (of which this is a thinly disguised example)--normally it's about ten to one pro-firearms---

--I'm surprised that they still allow reader response---

Makes some decent points. To my mind, American cops resort to deadly force much too easily.

We need to counter the racist societal narrative that portrays young black men as inherently suspicious and dangerous. It's a lie that has been told to us for far too long, with deadly consequences.

Sadly, this point requires people to ignore the truth. Some are willing to do that. More will pretend to.

But the truth doesn't go away because it's inconvenient.

BTW, nobody ever, ever complains about people viewing young men, of any color, as inherently more dangerous than young women. Or the fact that young men are imprisoned at a much higher rate than women.

Why is gender profiling accepted so easily? Could it be because young men ARE more dangerous, and DO commit crimes at a much higher rate?

That's tough on people like me, who used to be a young man. But it's the fault of the other young men who gave as that accurate reputation, not those who simply developed stereotypes that reflect reality.

Are all young men dangerous? Of course not. Are they more dangerous as a group than old men, or women of any age? You betcha.
