Sen. Elizabeth Warren Faults Reagan for GOP Attack on Middle Class in CA Speech
NBC Los Angeles ^ | May 16, 2015 | MICHAEL R. BLOOD

Democrat Elizabeth Warren warned Saturday that Republican policies being promoted by its emerging presidential field would create an "American nightmare" that would crush opportunities for students and workers, deepen wage inequality and favor Wall Street banks and huge corporations.

Warren's speech before several thousand party loyalists at a California Democratic convention in Anaheim was greeted with thunderous cheers while scores of delegates waved signs emblazoned with her name.

The Massachusetts senator and favorite of the party's left wing ridiculed the GOP's potential 2016 field, including Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has proposed a double-digit cut in state aid for higher education.

Warren said Walker's idea of leadership was "cut taxes for billionaires and giant corporations and then say there is no more money for anybody else."

She faulted President Ronald Reagan, a former California governor who lived in Los Angeles, for what she said was a three-decade assault on the middle class.

"They attacked wages. They attacked pensions. They attacked health care. They attacked unions," Warren said. Republican policies "attacked all the pieces that had built Americas great middle class."

"Trickle-down economics was nothing more than political cover for helping the rich and powerful get richer and more powerful," she said.....

What you type is 100% true but when have we ever known a Democrat to let facts get in the way of the narrative? DEMOCRATS=COMMUNIST+TREASON.

December 2014

A former president and a potential 2016 White House hopeful are going head to head for a Grammy Award.

Jimmy Carter and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) are competing in the same Spoken Word category. The 39th president is nominated for the audio version of his bestselling book, A Call to Action, while Warren received a nod for her tome A Fighting Chance.

The political pair faces off against director and writer John Waters, the late comedienne Joan Rivers and actor James Franco in the category.

....Warren may find some stiff competition from Carter — he’s been nominated for a Grammy six times and took home the award in 2007.

He’s not the only commander in chief to snag the music industry honor: former President Clinton and President Obama have also won.

A similar high-profile showdown in the same Grammy category occurred back in 2013, when first lady Michelle Obama and former President Clinton were both nominated for their audiobooks. Neither was awarded the top prize; it went to singer Janis Ian for the audio version of her autobiography.

The 2015 awards show will air on CBS in February.

-—There is perhaps some argument that the criminally insane and the mentally deranged lost some of the benefits they were entitled to—

No that’s a lefty lie as well.

I’ve done some research on and I was studying clinical psychology when Clinton was President. The facts are that Mental Hospital beds decreased from about 800,000 to 150,000 in the years 1965 to 1976-78. The reason for this was the introduction of new drugs with the false hope that they would reverse the disease entirely and the States (this was before mental health was a Federal issue) did see this as a cost savings.

By the time of Clinton’s presidency we were seeing mental patients newly release, having stopped their meds freezing to death on the streets. (This was much less cruel than keeping them in an institution against their will — See the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest). This was driven by lefties wanting to ruin another institution - the mental health system - and yes Republicans wanting to reduce costs.

Reagan only acted to get the Federal government out of it and returned block funding to the States. To blame him for 15 years of deconstruction of mental health is false.

She knows exactly of what she speaks. She speaks the full throated cry of class war.we may mock her fabulist claims to native blood, but IMO she is the most dangerous political figure this nation has seen in decades. Her potential to rally enough LIVs, jealous of other’s success into a powerful movement is real. And I believe Barky’s attacks on her trade stance are being done deliberately to establish her creds. She is not a socialist. Her language is that of the Bolsheviks.

Nicely explained. If you could only fit that on a bumper sticker.
The “Progressive” types calling supply side economics “trickle down” is moronic. Their demand side, tax and spend is the real ‘trickle down’. Feds tax the rich, put the cash in a general fund, take a cut here and there for themselves then redistribute the minute left overs. It has never worked to create wealth for the middle class throughout history and they know it.
I call their base the ‘Cargo Cult’.
