The transparency standards for an NFL quarterback rising higher than for the Secretary of State surely speaks to the bread-and-circuses quality of 2015 America.
We expect more from our gridiron heroes than from our nations leaders. Perhaps the tizzy over Tom serves as a tacit admission that we also expect more responsiveness to public opinion from 345 Park Ave. than from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
No law decrees that a quarterback must turn over his texts and emails to the NFL the way that the Federal Records Act demands that the Secretary of State turn over correspondence to the government. Yet the failure of the four-time Super Bowl winner to share his iPhones, computers, and other gadgets and gizmos with NFL investigator Ted Wells sends the Fourth Estate into a frenzy.

I hold things I scoop in the cat’s litter box to a higher standard.
So true - and ya gotta love the irony.
I guess Flynn should be supporting Hillary Clinton.
Uh, I wasn’t aware she had any standards. Nothing to diabolical for her. Can you say Vince Foster/Ron Brown.
Tom Brady for President!
They’re trying to “Pete Rose” Tom Brady, and the sports media is just as bad as the regular media.
LOL, my first thought also - she has standards?
Read it again. He’s not talking about Hillary’s standards. He’s talking about journalists’ standards.
Brady should have sent someone else to speak for him. /sarc
This is easy. Political lobbyist pay much more than a stupid low paid player agent. Next question?
The useless media went wild about some flaccid balls and gave the Queen a free pass. Anybody surprised?
“Political lobbyist pay much more than a stupid low paid player agent.”
I don’t have any figures to affirm or dispute absolutely your comment. To my knowledge, sports agents are paid 10% of each of their signed players’ incomes: NFL salary, endorsements, etc. I could handle, if I had to, Tom Brady’s agent’s income vs. just about any Washington lobbyist.
Brady is a football star, a legend, AND something that kids might look up to emulating.
Not so much for Cankles Cankles.
I agree that Brady has no requirements, to turn over anything, in this underflating football thing. This isn’t Pete Rose.
Brady has an “R” after his name!
My point is that the agent’s fee is chicken feed compared to the feast provided by Lobbyist.
Got to keep the elected whores happy.
So does Rush Limbaugh. All of his shows are about deflated footballs now...or selling children’s books. Thank god for Mark Levin!
Duh! People CARE about football...
