The GOP attack on climate change takes a big step forward
Los Angeles Times ^ | 4-28-15 | Michael Hiltzik

Living down to our worst expectations, the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology voted Thursday to cut deeply into NASA's budget for Earth science, in a clear swipe at our agency's manipulation of climate data.

The committee's markup of the NASA authorization bill followed what appears to be a deliberate attempt to keep (us) Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), the committee's rank Democrat, and her caucus in caucus "we understood why.", Rep. Eddie B whined.

What does NASA stand for? It’s not Earth Science or Climate Research. Create another agency for that if you need to.

Elections have consequence Eddie B.

Tell that Mitch McConnell. No bill has passed Congress with less than 93% Democrat support.

Who writes like this? I've seen far more erudite ramblings scratched onto bathroom stalls. Is this journalism or jounalistas?

“Rank Democrat”

“manipulation of climate data”

I think he’s trying to tap out a hidden message.

“Wrank” is a new word for me.

It’s the wank-and-file Democrats who keep these criminals in office.

Liberals have to pervert everything they touch. NASA is concerned about traveling through the solar system. Not the climate on planet ape. Here, have a banana and shut up.

What about NOAA? Already there.

Exactly. Why use an “aeronautics and space” agency to study climate change? But that’s what they’ve been doing for years because Democrats have politicized it. That’s why we no longer have a manned space program, and have to rely on Russia to get our people to the ISS which we’ve mostly paid for.

No matter how much their schemes and lies are disproven - like Hitlery and ‘Bummer - they keep on spewing their carp

If they could make money out of it, they would insist that the sun rises in the west - and many would believe.

Besides that, the military budget also needs to be wiped clean of the GREEN agenda and put that money back into training, maintenance, and gear.

No need. NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, is exactly that agency. They've been around for quite a while.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

There are actually 3 agencies involved: NASA, NOAA, and USGS. And that is just in the US. Many nations are involved in this.

They do other things besides study climate change, so they are developing information other than climate that the GOP doesn't like:

Depicting the growth of Mountaintop mining
Depicting growth of Vegas and a shrinking Lake Powell
Development in the Amazon
Growth of dead/dying zones on the coasts.
Algae blooms in the Great Lakes
Depleting aquifers.

There is a misconception that this is applicable only to the earth. They were able to map Mars only because they had already developed the technology by mapping earth. If you want to study moisture content of Mar's surface, try it first on the earth.

Of the total budget, they don't spend that much on this. The GOP is mad because under Obama, Bush's funding cuts have been restored.
