It Won’t Be Hillary (she's doomed and the Rats don't have anybody else alert)
American Spectator ^ | April 24, 2015 | Scott McKay

Peter Schweizer’s book will finish off doomed Clinton campaign. Who else do Dems have?

Honestly, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign won’t go any further than — if it even gets as far as — her ill-fated 2008 attempt at returning to the White House. After all, Clinton isn’t a more attractive candidate now than she was then, and after two terms of a failed Democrat president one would think it would require a candidate with real political skill to keep a Democrat installed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Clinton, unlike her glib husband, has no such talent. Last week’s amateurish and clumsy “rollout” to her presidential bid showed she has no more aptitude for retail politics than she has for messaging. Want proof? This woman, who touched off guffaws nationwide by claiming she and Bill were “dead broke” upon leaving the White House (with silverware in tow) in 2001, decided to offer herself as a champion of the little people as the key theme of her campaign.

If ever there was an ill-fitting and ill-considered elevator pitch for a political candidate, it’s the narrative of Hillary Clinton as the defender of ordinary Americans.

Bottom Line: The fact is, the Democrats are very much like the mediocre NFL team laden with overpaid, declining veteran players whose guaranteed contracts gobble up salary cap space and prevent a needed roster overhaul. The only way such a team can be rebuilt is to eat the “dead money,” bring in a slew of cheap young players, and make the best of what’s likely to be a rough patch for a couple of seasons until the salary cap problems are past. When the leadership of the Democratic Party is found in the Hillary Clintons, Harry Reids, Nancy Pelosis, Joe Bidens, John Kerrys, and Al Gores of the world, and the Democrats’ bench has been badly depleted in the last few election cycles, there are no young stars on the way up.

That’s why people actually take it seriously when Bill de Blasio makes noises about running next year. That’s why Martin O’Malley, the failed governor of Maryland whose protégé lost to a Republican — in Maryland! — in a bid to succeed him, is taken seriously. That’s why the ludicrous Liz Warren is being put forth as the Left’s dream candidate.

There is no bench on the Democrat side, and there is no candidate available to replace Hillary Clinton — regardless of how unelectable she is.

I read an article on FR recently that listed a raft of potential Clinton challengers in their forties and fifties who have decided to ride this one out. The reason is to run against Clinton is political suicide. But after this year she will be too old and she will still control the largest concentration of political funds and donors ever assembled. They are afraid to do to Clinton the things it has become necessary to do in order to win as she has a notoriously long memory and the power to crush people for the remainder of their careers.

They are probably waiting for her to bow out before they jump in. If she does withdraw they will come out of the woodwork.

I think that her best chance of all was in 2008 when there was still some scintilla of cohesion of the support group of consultants, media, shills, moneymen and Democrat sheep. I think she could have scuttled Obama’s campaign with all the things about him the media refused to spotlight because he was “The First Black blah blah blah”.

She didn’t and she kicks herself for it personally I think. She had the mechanism and means and didn’t use it. Now, after 8 years of Obama, eight years of boozing, getting fatter and more wrinkled, still hiding, conniving, concocting and lying she doesn’t have the backup force structure because it’s all used up protecting Obama (still) and her superpolitican husband has been too busy chasing dope, ass and money.

It’s a glass shell, and there are cracks in it. She can’t run a campaign where she ducks voters at every event, even with the audience her team selects. It’s a basement campaign (more appropriately, a bunker).

She’ll get eaten alive in a debate, and that is something she just won’t let happen. There just isn’t any substantive positive “there” there any more.

Yeah, sure: more that 50% of our people are stupid people. They will vote for Hillary and ignore her incompetence, corruption, immorality. Nothing, literally nothing will change that.

Wishful thinking won't win the presidency - only a much stronger candidate from the real world - but we don't have one.

“If she does withdraw they will come out of the woodwork.”

Wood eating insects are not particularly obnoxious. I think if she withdraws they’ll slime-trail their way out of the dung piles.

When the Clintons go down they will not go alone
Besides their faithful they will try to take down both ObMa and the Bush family who they skillfully entwined willingly or not in the Haitian fiasco. (IMO that’s why Jeb hasn’t entered the race — and probably will not)

I hope the woman stays in the race then. She thinks that she is immune from prosecution. That arrogance will be her undoing and a presidential loss to the Dem party.

Damaged goods...It is the best way to overcome the electoral edge. The democrat voters will shrug and stay home on election day.

I don’t know how many people who were planning on voting for her will be dissuaded by this. In 6 months it will be old news and after all, “what difference at this point, does it make?”

Everyone seems to forget that Hillary is going to have $2B to spend. Two of the big reasons Romney lost (other than Romney) are that 1) Obama spent almost $1B trashing him, so that the mighty middle stayed home (since they didn’t like Obama, either) and 2) religious conservatives and movement conservatives (not always the same) would not support him because he wasn’t “pure” enough. Since average American gets their news from one of the three networks or the rest of the mainstream press, this could happen again. With all her flaws (and they are many), with the trashing of whoever gets the nomination, the search for ideological purity by movement conservatives and the cover-up by the mainstream press (in a year, not now), we could see President Hillary.

Remember her last campaign?

She’d buy 50 pieces of colored wool. put them on top of each other and cut fabric for 50different colored suits ... all the same design. She has dumped that “stylist” to go with more stylish, varied suits .... but she sucks more than ever!

BS... NEVER, EVER count the Clintons out. If there’s one thing those demons do well, it’s getting up off the canvas when you think you’ve KO’d them.

I can’t see anyone wanting to be the candidate following 8 years of Obama. Unless the fix is in. Which maybe true these days.

Hillary Clinton is the Bob Dole of the Democrat Party. They have no expectation of winning. The economy is a bubble, and the powers-that-be want it to pop during a Republican administration.

The plan is to put a RINO in office who will not roll back any of the socialist achievements, and wait a while to put another socialist in office.

The donkey party’s on life support, and they can only blame themselves for enabling Barack Obama’s radical agenda.

They still have not acknowledged the magnitude of their defeat in the 2014 elections. This is key. Instead, the entire liberal establishment gambled that Hillary would come along and save the party. The NYT, and others have now concluded this ain’t happenin’.

All that we see now is about saving the party.

Hillary is being given the hook, creating a void, the article is correct in that the names mentioned are, well.....on the JV team, to borrow a phrase.

I posit that only two names could possibly save the party. Evan Bayh. Mark Warner.

Probably won’t happen, but voids create strange happenings, (see Middle East 2015 after US influence evaporated.)
