In explaining why the Bible is a best seller year after year, Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington said there is something "tugging" inside of us, "telling us to believe in something," which is God, and that the Bible provides "the answer people are looking for" even if they do not realize it at first.

I wish more people in the Hollywood industry who are ‘Believers’ had the guts to speak up for the Lord like he has.
It’s refreshing to hear a Hollywood star to mention the Bible.
Too many Hollywood people seem to be liberal, and want to just lecture us about global warming or homosexuality. It’s nice to hear someone in Hollywood say something inspiring and uplifting, and not just pushing the liberal cause of the day.
At the risk of sounding ultra picky, Jesus Christ is the answer... the bible is here to tell us His story.

Actually I have noticed a recent trend in that direction. I’ve also noticed many brand name actors starring in Christian movies in the past year...
It looks like the proverbial pendulum is swinging again.
But we don’t have to just sit here and look at it. We can give it a powerful push by calling on the power of heaven.
..... Yet .... strangely ...... being a "Best Seller" year after year ..... very few people that own those Bibles have actually read it from cover to cover .... let alone ... know what it actually says inside!
I would say Denzel will be blacklisted from Hollywood for this but he’s a black man so its fine.
To really understand it you (the rhetorical you) need to know the Author. And you need to have some approximation of a sane view of the Author too. According to some people, God is always in some kind of angry stew with nothing better to do, ever. I submit that view is a huge mistake.
The big secret is: angry stews are OUR problem. (That kind of mindset was inherited in the original sin, not surprising for something the devil engineered.) If we can only let God get us out of our angry stews then we can carry on a lot more sanely and happily and effectively too. It’s a matter of proportion. Nobody ever believed the boy who cried wolf too much, and neither is our anger credible if we’re always mad anyhow.
By the way, most liberals are well known for angry stews.
Some people just go to the end of the Bible and like those agreement statements when downloading a program click on “I accept” ....
I’ve wondered about him being Christian ever since the movie “The Book of Eli.”
I met Denzel Washington on the street when he was filming in an eastern city on location. Such a nice and gracious man.
How refreshing. I suddenly like Denzel Washington a lot more.
Pretty picky.
:-)
....But it does not hurt to refer to the Bible though, where you will fine Jesus.
He’s an obama supporter, and was front and center in 2 of his inaugurations.
HOWEVER, he keeps his mouth shut in his politics and supports wounded soldiers with his army hospital visits.
See. I thought that was last nights bean burrito. Silly me...It was God!
Well the answer depends on the question.
He was great as Don Pedro in Branagh’s “Much Ado About Nothing”, and Shakespeare can sometimes maul an otherwise great actor. Just look at Jack Lemmon in Branagh’s “Hamlet”.
