One thing it did was made it illegal to build your own home. And that’s the truth.

Well, Texas is off the list.

I know people in Texas that are building their own homes. What are you talking about? Educate me.

Soon and very soon all cops will wear masks to hide their identities from cameras.

He also put a bill out to force mental screenings on kids at the sole discretion of a school.

How is it illegal to build your own home in TX?

They were attempting to outlaw taking the video from a vehicle at a traffic stop. This would have essentially outlawed doing that.

Who ever came up with this should find other work quickly.

After a torrent of negative feedback flooded his office, Villalba instructed his staff to block “trolls” who threatened him and his family, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Glad no one was hurt.

So I give this an 8 on the honking hoot scale. Mr. Villalba had no idea what he opened up here.

In Illinois you can and will go to jail for photographing or filming a cop. Like those youtube videos where they film themselves getting pulled over, you cannot do that here. Has been stories in the papers about it in recent years. Cops and officials cannot be filmed without a warrant or some such crap because of our wiretapping laws.

Instances where cops have seized cameras/phones are not unheard of here.

I always wondered why there was no real public outcry about it.

I'm guessing you waste your time on Fox News and network talk radio. To real conservatives, this has been an issue for years.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, it's explanation enough.

I've always believed that people like Perry should be able to offer as much money as they want to elections. HOWEVER, if either the donor or the pol show any profit from any legislation, ever, they die, screaming, with their families, dog, cats, pigs, horses, their house burned, their property looted, bank accounts dumped into the general fund.

We'd either have more honest elected officials, or better and MUCH more cautious crooks.

“I’m guessing you waste your time on Fox News and network talk radio. To real conservatives, this has been an issue for years.”

I guess as a “real conservative” I should watch MSNBC? Or maybe no news at all, and build a satellite tower on my head with tinfoil?

I’m not sure what your derogatory comments were meant to do besides allude to the idea that only you and your ilk are “real conservatives” and “real conservatives” don’t listen to talk radio or FOX.

Please, enlighten me, as one who wishes to be a “real conservative” where should I get my news and information?

I am sorry, but I see no real outcry here in Illinois about the issue, and am fully involved with our TEA party rallies (those probably aren’t real conservative either).

Sheesh

My understanding, FWIW, is that when these cases get taken to federal court the laws are routinely ruled unconstitutional.

As they should be.

Which is not to say that photographers can’t be disruptive. Look at the paparazzi around celebs.

But a photographer who’s being disruptive can be arrested for the disruption, not the photographing.

I understand that, but it’s the intimidation. Here is a link about what’s going on, it was ruled unconstitutional but they are still arresting people. Now, keep in mind, we don’t have many places to turn. The speaker of the house is Mike Madigan, dem machine operative, huge power in the state, he has the power and is right now strangling executive orders and court orders from our newly elected R govenor. How? Well, coincidentally his daughter Lisa Madigan is the states attorney. He can do what he wants. SHE interprets the law, sitting on filings and cases forever, so they never get to the state supreme (which is all dems anyhow, elected and campaigns paid for by the large law firms)

Anyways, read this, it’s just one article, plenty more found on your favorite search engine.

http://www.infowars.com/illinois-citizens-still-being-arrested-for-filming-cops-despite-court-ruling-which-blocked-unconstitutional-law/

BTW, thanks for your input, I had never thought about the disruptive aspect, but I think LEO and officials (yes, they are arresting IL residents for filming town hall meetings and such, they bring extra cops when our TEA peoples show up), should not have any protection from being filmed or photographed in the line of work, while doing the job of the people.
