A teenager shot by a Zion police officer Saturday died of two gunshot wounds to the back, Lake County Coroner Thomas Rudd announced Monday.
Justus Howell, 17, was shot twice, with one bullet penetrating his heart, spleen and liver, and the other entering his right shoulder, according to a coroner's news release on the autopsy.

I went to a state school that had a lot of inner city students attending. One evening outside my room I could hear two people talking, obviously inner city male youths, if I may be allowed to profile from the accent. One was talking about how he had to write a medical report. Mind you, this was not a school of medicine and the dorms didn’t house grad students. “I godda ride a medical report for tomorrow. I godda go to da lyberry an everything, where ever dat be.”

At the risk of being (correctly) branded as cynical, of the three things she noted (fairly, swiftly and truthfully) the only thing the NAACP is interested in is swiftly.
99 times out of 100 in instances like this, the last thing the NAACP wants is the truth coming out.

I stayed there at the Holiday Inn once and my room air conditioner exploded and caught fire. It interrupted my watching Johnny Carson. There were a bunch of crazy Great Lakes Navy sailors running amok when the alarm went off. Before I ran from the room I called down to the desk and they did not believe me. The manager came up and pulled the plug on the air and pulled the curtains back. They never called the FD until later.
The manager’s question to me was; And I suppose you want a different room........?
This is a 17 yr old running from the cops at the scene of the shooting. While I respect the rights of the accused, I seriously doubt this was a modern day Thomas Jefferson.

Good thing we have radios, technology, backup and training.
What does it matter. All cops badges are 007 anymore. They don't need reasons, because they will never be charged.

I’d like to read the detailed report submitted by the officers on this.
The info we have here is very skimpy. For example, how many shots were fired in total by the police? Were they threatened”? Did he point the gun at them? Did he say anything?
I’m going to wait for more facts.
