Our View: We encourage our readers to actively redefine nude and consider the subtle examples of racism they encounter every day.
Imagine this: you are a young African American woman who has run to the local department store to grab a nude colored bra to wear under a sheer outfit, say a game-day dress or a work interview blouse. But when you get to the store there is no nude lingerie, at least not for you. Bras in slightly different shades of pale peach abound, but there are few to no options for darker-skinned women and they arent advertised as nude-colored. How would it make you feel that the fashion industry and society at large has based its ideal of nude on Caucasian people? That the color of your skin doesnt count as nude?
Fortunately, one lingerie company is shining a light on this glaring discrepancy and is actively redefining nude

What's so hard about that?
Well, I could say, but it would get me banned. :->
Sounds more like an entrepreneurial opportunity to me. Why not gather together a few neighbors, pool your money and start making bras for dark skinned women ..?????????
Wouldn’t that be better than sitting around whining because “they” don’t make bras for you ..???????????
I guess that spirit of doing it yourself to help yourself and friends is no longer working in America.
When I was younger, my mom had to make most of my clothes. She could never find anything to fit me .. so she bought several patterns and the material and made it herself.
I remember thinking 15 years ago that if I were black, I’d invent brown band-aids and lingerie. I guess I should have just done it, but I figured one of them would figure it out.
A see-through blouse for a work interview? Where is this place?
I define nude as “Let the party....begin!”
>>Somebody’s providing goods to a certain groups of people willing to buy them at a fair price. Capitalism at its best.<<
It is a niche market (12% maximum) but it is serviced (look at hair care and skin products). It makes sense to fill it and good for someone for noticing the need.
It is like “black” shows aimed at black audiences. The upper level will be 12% but they can only get a fraction of that. And the viewers least likely to watch are white liberals, who, when no one is looking (as when they choose a TV show) are the biggest racists of all.

They just keep saying, “There ought to be a gummint program...” but its White Privilege that keeps them down.
These people spend all their time seeking ways to be offended
I do not think state-owned Universities and “capitalism” are compatible.
No, you're right, that's exactly what it is.
More damned race-baiting and whining.
...the free market system working like it should. Somebody's providing goods to a certain groups of people willing to buy them at a fair price. Capitalism at its best.
Sure...until that whining POS Sharpton or Jackson or that obama ass comes along and starts hollering about exploitation of the black race and demands it for free or insists that the government subsidize it for them.
I'm fed up with it.
“Actually, while this seems at first glance more guilt-mongering PC crapola perpetrated by race pimps and the LSM, it can be seen as the free market system working like it should.”
It’s both.
There is definitely a market opportunity here.
I went out deep sea fishing with a black friend. We used scopolamine patches for sea-sickness. Mine blended in, his was a pinkish dot behind his ear, and when I pointed out that he had a “flesh” colored patch, he laughed and said I don’t wish to discuss it.
Ever seen those over-the ear wireless microphones? One company sells them in six skin tones from pinkish to dark brown. I was in a production where we rented these mics and we found the pink ones (all the rental company had) looked dumb on the black actors. We used brown marking pens to make them all burnt umber, a better match, then washed off the marker with IPA. The rental company agreed to buy some darker shade mics for our next production. We used markers on the black dancer’s bra straps so they would not show as much because, as the article says, “nude” or flesh-color bras only come in “white people”! We all worked it though without whining about it.

"Mocha" sounds sexier.
No kidding. The MAJORITY of Americans consumers who buy bras are NOT BLACK. So the MAJORITY OF "nude" bras will conform to the color of non-black skin. It is not a racial issue - it's who freaking buys the most bras.
My ex used to call people like this professional blacks. Why don't they call Oprah Windbag to give them some seed money to start a black bra company?
I thought it was satire.
