NORMAN, Okla. — The local chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is planning to pursue legal action against the University of Oklahoma, and possibly OU President David Boren.

The group has hired high-profile attorney, Stephen Jones to represent them.

Jones told NewsChannel 4 the group is outraged over President Boren shutting down the fraternity house and branding all SAE members as racists and bigots.

Jones says the two students who were expelled because of the incident have apologized sincerely for their remarks, and now the incident is being exploited.

Good, they’re right. Hope they get satisfaction. Those frat members are getting more sever punishment than college stu-int aflettes who are charged with assault and rape-one year suspensions or less, for them.

No, it’s not constitutional for the University of Oklahoma to expel students for racist speech

Rush made an interesting point the other day about this—Were these guys black, the song would likely be climbing to the Top Ten of the hip-hop chart.

Interesting there has been no lawsuit by the UVA fraternity against Rolling Stone magazine. I suspect one of the conditions of reinstatement in January was an agreement not to sue the university. Could/would the university have also protected Rolling Stone?

With respect to the OU lawsuit, unless there is a quick settlement the university will likely drag it out forever in court. The alumni better have deep pockets. The left will target each of the students and their families, as well as the alumni funding the suit. It may be difficult for the students to find jobs. Likely the alums financing the suit will see their jobs and businesses under attack. The judge in the case may not be sympathetic and may be downright hostile. It is doubtful any politicians or public figures will support them in principle. Seeing this through will cost much more than money and they could easily lose.

So the solution is to continue to roll over? What happens when we run out of places to cower?

Agreed. Within any college, there's due process to expel a student or an organization. Even TV "news commentators" are saying that the stupid song wasn't a directed threat toward anyone, thus it's protected free speech.

I would question why anyone who was on that bus would film it and release it to the media. I thought even in the US people are allowed to be tasteless in private.

And to top it all off--even after some of the members withdrew or were expelled (whichever it was), and that fraternity chapter closed, black students are still calling for some kind of punishment for the leaders of the national fraternity-just like in Ferguson, the COP and a judge resigning wasn't enough for the "protestors", they wanted more-enough is never enough, even too much already isn't enough-it's not about "justice", it's about forcing whites to toe a PC line that no other group has to toe in this country-if they did, the Black Panthers would have been charged for specifically and publicly calling for death to whites, including white babies, instead of having been given a media platform to do so. This is all about app 13% of the population demanding power over all the rest, by setting standards that everyone but them has to follow.

And while the protesting is going on, they're missing the real issue that is a real threat to their future. Blacks are no longer the "majority minority" in the US. While they're striving for a national movement defending a thug who robbed a store, assaulted a clerk half his size, and defied a police officer's direction, look what's happened. Those hordes in Obama Invaders are taking jobs, taking over neighborhoods and sucking up services and benefits. They're on the same power trip as Obama. Anything they get isn't because they want that and they'll be satisfied, they want more because it's about proving their power and domination.

The attorney Stephen Jones is the guy who represented Tim McViegh. Just a tidbit of info.

It appears that their hatred and covetousness of whites trumps everything else, to their own detriment.

My niece goes to OU. She was at a luncheon yesterday where Stoops was a speaker. Said he talked a little about the SAE ordeal. It had him in tears. He said this is really a bad thing for OU and for his team.

I asked her if it was as bad as deciding to punt to OSU a second time, but she didn't see the humor :) You know kids.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the National Fraternity shut down this local chapter?

” It had him in tears. He said this is really a bad thing for OU and for his team.”

A song.....sung by a few students
What a drama queen. A dozen young black men will die this weekend in Chicago and Detroit but Coach Stoops cries over a song.

I think it was probably more over the problems it is creating with his team. Did you see the Striker video? But yeah, I agree with you. Half the sooner nation cried when he punted to OSU a second time.

Boren didn’t shut down the ASE chapter, the fraternity headquarters did that. And as for the branding them as racists and bigots part I think they kind of did that to themselves.

I agree with that. Free speech says you're free to say whatever you want. But freedom also means people can think whatever they want of you for saying it.

Don't try to interject truth and reason when the martyers and their lawyer are talking.

Obviously they didn’t know everyone on that bus. The video was not released to the media directly. It is so easy today to have something filmed privately and then sent around the world in seconds.
